June 21, 2018 Spurs Fan 4 posts | Eligible players Can women play on more than one womens team at the same time in the same division? Do they have to be dropped by the first teams roster before they can get on a new teams roster? |
June 21, 2018 SSUSA Staff 3485 posts | Players (male or female) may NOT be on multiple rosters in the same age division (EXCEPT in a "snowbird" situation) ... They may, however, "double roster" vertically between different age groups if otherwise eligibl;e as to age and residency for both teams ... A woman may, for example, be on a 50+ AND a 55+ senior women's roster, even in the same tournament ... The player is, of course, at the mercy of any scheduling conflicts if the teams play at the same time(s) or at different parks ... Players may also receive only one team release per Season per age group ... If a player leaves Team "A" to go to Team "B" and doesn't like it, they may not return to Team "A" OR go to a Team "C" ... If you have specific questions, please call the Sacramento Home Office at (916) 326.5303 during normal business hours in the Pacific time zone and ask to speak with an eligibility specialist ... Be prepared to provide names of the player(s) and team(s) involved so that you receive accurate and reliable guidance ... |
July 17, 2018 Spurs Fan 4 posts | What is "snowbird"? |
July 18, 2018 DaveDowell Men's 70 4312 posts | A "snowbird" is a player who may desire to play in two separate regions/states of the country ... Here's an excerpt from the rule, and it would be informative for you to look at the provisions in their entirety ... __________ §13.1(2) • PLAYERS MUST PLAY IN REGIONS (Rulebook pages 62-63) Any player considered a snowbird and lives in more than one region of the country for three consecutive months may play in both regions, but must declare which team he will play with in the National and/or World Masters Championships. He must apply for, and be granted, a "snowbird ID card" and inform both managers which team he will be playing with for the National and/or World Masters Championships. |
