Having it done in the DeMarini manufacturing facility by them is a plus ... Presumably, they wouldn't do anything that would cause any of their bats to fail technical specifications ... But as Fred S infers, having it done at all to create a bat that's not readily available to the buying public could a minus ... Hold up on this until we can get back to you with guidance ... Monsta has a re-weighing program that you can send you bat in to change the weight but only to a weight that that particular model was made in. I had a bat changed with no issues. If Demarini is willing to do that it could only be made in weights that model was made in but not change, for instance, a balanced bat to an endloaded one as that does not conform to that model as it was manufactured. I have not ever heard of a major bat company offering this that I can remember. |

That's a "repair" in our view and does not change the bat's technical specifications as manufactured ... Your suggested modification ultimately results in a "non-standard" bat ... That's not presumptive of being altered, but does pose the problem of it not being part of DeMarini's normal product line ... Our advice is, respectfully, to pass on requesting that modification ... | Aug. 22, 2018 southerinman Men's 50 52 posts | I have no idea about getting a bat reweighed but a quick search on eBay found 3-4 different years of Demarini "The One" senior bats listed. Not sure which one your looking for but it's another option if you haven't already checked. |
| Aug. 22, 2018 Wayne 37 Men's 65 773 posts | I believe this would for sure be altering of a bat. The reason, you can send it off to a "bat doctor" and they will do the same thing for a fee. I sent an old Miken II off years ago just to see how it would perform. It went from a 27 to 29 ounce and the pop it added was amazing. That guy knew what he doing as far as altering a bat. He was high tech in his approach to the way he did it. |

| Aug. 22, 2018 OZ40 549 posts | I once sent a Dudley back to the manufacturer to replace the endcap which broke in half and flew off during BP. I posted about that on this forum. I would figure that this is similar to a new car. Return to the dealer during the warranty period for repairs or you void out the warranty. That said, if all the shell thicknesses for a certain bat are the same with the only difference being the weighting in the cap I see no difference if the manufacturer uses factory standard operating procedures to change the weight for you. As a matter of fact, I seem to remember something about Demarini offering bats made to your specifications maybe a year ago?? |

It was started as a good faith inquiry to prevent problems by a player many (if not ALL who know him) consider to be an exemplary and legendary figure in Senior Softball ... Having it turn into a referendum regarding a self-professed bat cheat who jumped the thread seems somehow inconsistent with the "best interests of senior softball." THREAD CLOSED |
