rules question
im a reading it wrong under ranking guidelines... a major plus player can only play on a major or major plus team in the same age group... so a 55 major plus player can not play on a 50 major team

cop298 ... I presume you are talking about the Rules Committee's attempt to clarify (below) what happens when a player is playing across two age groups ... The prior Rule Book content was confusing, to say the least ... While it IS true a major plus player can only play on a major plus or major team in the same age group, a 55 major plus player CAN play on a 50 major team, or even a 40-AAA team since they have an "equivalent" rating index of R/I=8 ... That player would also be eligible to play DOWN one equivalent rating index as one of the three allowed out-of-rating players ... Please also see the "Team Rating Index Chart" available from the Rules page of this website ... Hope this helps! ...
__________

§4.2(6)B.PLAYING IN TWO AGE DIVISIONS – Section was amended for clarity to read:

B. A player can only play on a team in the same or equivalent skill level when playing in two age divisions or one skill level higher or lower. EXAMPLE: A player on a 55-Major division team cannot play on a 50-AA division team. • PASSED: 12‐0‐0

Bruce ... I made the same initial mistake ... This "Q" is by COP298 and not COOP3636 ... I need to pay closer attention! ...

Looking forward to the 2019 season.

So Dave, in your rules example-- "A player on a 55-Major division team cannot play on a 50-AA division team".
Isn't a 55 Major player only one rating index higher than 50AA. Can't he be one of the three out-of-rating players allowed?

Gavin5 ... A player may play down ONE equivalent rating level if he is otherwise eligible as to residency AND does not cause the team to exceed the maximum three "out of rating" players roster limit ... Please download the reference chart and it's really a pretty simple concept to grasp .. Thanks!
