Prostate Cancer
I am having my prpstate removed shortly. I am wondering how long until I can play softball again.

Wishing you good luck and speedy recovery...it depends on how well you recover afterwards..it varies among men whom undergone that.
I will be having cyberknife treatment this month for my prostate cancer as well...I chose it over surgery or hormone therapy. Better outcome, less side effects, etc...

chico senior, I had robotic surgery Sept. 2014. I kept to my workout routine prior to surgery and stopped 1 week before. I was in really good shape. After surgery and removal of catheter, I did a LOT, I mean a LOT of walking every day. I drove to florida in Jan 2015 and played in half century in Feb 2015. everyone recovers at a different rate. I was anxious to get back playing. In hindsight, I probably should have waited longer to play. The good news is that I feel great now and play as much as I want and my 6 month check-ups have been perfect. STAY POSITIVE. Talk to your surgeon about everything. You will be back on field in no time. Wishing you well.

chico- I had radical, robotic prostate surgery 9-years ago. I had to wear a catheter for 1-week, while they determined that I could pass urine OK. After that it was about 6 more weeks before I was able to start throwing again. I was 66 back then and was playing all facets of softball in 8-weeks. I had three small incisions that needed to heal along with the inside damage that was done, but give yourself 2-3 months to get back to 100%. I would do it again to save my life, although I was left with some incontinence. I control that by wearing pads every day, but it has not impacted my ability to play ball. Good luck. I guarantee you will heal to play ball again!
