How long did you start playing after surgery?
I’m closing in on 2 weeks after hip replacement suregery.

Has anyone had this surgery? And how long before you started playing again? Or even start exercising?

Had this done four years ago. Doc asked me to give it four months to mend. I started playing then. Best thing I ever done. Exercising started with therapy was doing one legged lunges at three weeks. Never had a problem. At four months was not yet at 100% took me a year to get there. Do pretty much what I wanted after that.

Yes, My doc told me no athletic stuff for a year and that's what I did. Started physical therapy immediately and lasted for about 4 months.

I had both hips done in 2009. After taking year off I have been playing since with no issues. If I were you I would take the time off. You will feel pretty good and will consider playing in a few months but to me it was worth taking the time off to get completely healed up. I know the technology has changed since I had mine less intrusive procedure, quicker healing time etc. But you are still replacing a joint better safe than sorry in my opinion!
