March 4, 2019 Wayne 37 Men's 65 773 posts | Where do I sign up? And I say maybe you should consider attending the National Rules Committee sessions some year ... Definitions §1.28 and §1.29 are subtly different and both were concisely fine-tuned following full discussion on how these two items interplay with the changes being made over time in for various age groups in the "1-1" starting pitch count ... The second and eighth posts in this thread should be crystal clear for anyone, even you ... ** THREAD CLOSED * Since stealing isn't allowed and you're making the ball dead, you've defined what is a FOUL BALL, NOT A FOUL TIP. The only thing subtle is the catch. That is the major difference in my book. 1.29 is just a part of the redundancy department. Why is this so hard to understand for even you? |
March 4, 2019 B.J. 1104 posts | LMAO.. wayne.. I'm not sure if you are talking to me? but if you are .. sorry you are ranting at the wrong person just so you know in your above post ... Dave Dowell posted all that info.and closed the thread and he was also the one who made the below post (DaveDowell: And I say maybe you should consider attending the National Rules Committee sessions some year .) |
March 4, 2019 DaveDowell Men's 70 4296 posts | You sign up for the convention through the SSUSA office (and later through the forms on the CONVENTION page of this website when it gets converted from 2018 to 2019.) ... The National Rules Committee sessions are open to the public and start on Wednesday of the week following Thanksgiving ... They will be in Las Vegas again this year ... In the meantime, continue re-reading Definition §1.28 F. and §1.29 until you grasp the subtleties of the differences in wording, meaning and impact on collateral provisions of the rules ... Oh, and remember that the National Rules Committee accepts input ONLY by identifiable written correspondence and email or by personal appearance testimony ... We SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDE anything from this message board, for obvious reasons ... |
March 4, 2019 TimMcElroy 942 posts | 99.9% of the membership appears to understand why the rule clarification was made and is okay with the wording that was chosen to correct the matter. You don't have to agree with the way the rule was written, but it (the rule) will not change anytime soon. Starting and continuing multiple threads is not likely to bring about the kind of change you are looking for. So, before this matter is transferred to the unintended consequences department, I suggest that you send your proposed wording to RULES@seniorsoftball.com. The committee will evaluate the request at the next rules meeting (December) and make a call. |
March 4, 2019 Wayne 37 Men's 65 773 posts | Stop locking every thread would be a nice start. You wouldn't have to reopen one. Sharing information is vital. I'm not looking for anything else. I would look forward to talking to individuals and not snarky commentators like BJ. It is quite a chore to have a mature conversation when he is dragging it down most each and every time as noted by his comment above. Maybe I get this bone cancer beaten before I do anything else. |
March 4, 2019 DaveDowell Men's 70 4296 posts | We close threads for a variety of reasons, most often for [1] personal derogatory sniping between posters and [2] cyclical redundancy on points adequately answered in previous posts in a given thread ... You are too often a world class offender on both counts ... ** THREAD CLOSED ** |
