Reasons for team bump
I played in a recent tournament, which was the first time I've ever played senior softball. Apparently, because I had never played before my joining the team forced them to get bumped from AAA to Majors. Reading through the team ratings/guidelines I don't see that as a reason why they would bump them up. Is this a case of bad information or some rule that I cannot seem to find?

you are not rated until you play... if your team got bumped, it is for their success or they added some higher ranked players! It should be an Honor to get bumped and that is the way everyone should look at it!

OR your team is a new 40-Masters team ... All new 40-Masters teams begin with an initial presumptive rating of Major ... For teams 50+ and more senior, that presumptive initial rating is AAA ... The same criteria are applied to players who are completely new to SSUSA sanctioned events ... If you have specific remaining unanswered questions, please call the Sacramento Home Office at (916) 326.5303 during normal West Coast business hours ... Thanks!

Thanks and that's what I thinking was the case too. Agreed it should be viewed as an honor, I personally like a good challenge so I was happy with it. So players do get rated/ranked, is that information shared with the player so they are aware?
