SW champsionship
Why isn't the SW championship held in the south west?

The tournament was founded in 2005 and ran in Tucson, AZ, (2005-09) before one year off (2010) then in Kingman, AZ, and Laughlin, NV, (2011) and eventually finding a "permanent" home in Las Vegas (2012-present) ... The tournament simply outgrew the capacity of the Tucson facilities ... The event name stuck but the original location didn't ... Your "local" TOC Qualifier is the Texas State Championships, upcoming in a couple of weeks ...

Not sure about not being in the Southwest??? When I look at the map I see Texas is south central.....Vegas and Nevada as a whole are very much southwest!

Vegas is closer to California which means more green.......as in paper money.

Alamo, look up how many teams played in Tucsan, Kingman, or Laughlin. Take the number entered in Vegas, subtract the average at other locations, multiply by the entry fee.......that may be a large reason for your WHY?. Plus other attractions to do for players and family in Vegas verses other cowboy towns.

Google tells me that Lebanon, KS is the geographic center of the 48 contiguous states. Even after a few Captain & Cokes, Las Vegas is South and West of that point on any map that I look at. Clearly though, we have offended some people by holding the "Southwest" Championships in Las Vegas.

I'd like to propose a less offensive name for the tournament going forward: LVSSA / SSUSA April Tournament Offering at Parks in Las Vegas and Surrounding Communities Where A Profit May Be Realized.

Cheers!
