May 5, 2019 Jamiek 4 posts | ASA stamps and newer bats etc I've noticed that the bats I have been using do not have an ASA stamp on them. They do have an NSA 2012, ISA approved, and USSSA 1.20 stamp on them. My new league is now requiring that all bats have an ASA stamp. I cant find any bats with these stamps Can anyone give me some insite here? |

May 5, 2019 lowprofile 65 posts | Well first of all, anything saying Senior softball is strickly used for Senior softball only and cannot be used in ASA play as the BPF IS 1.21 (TOO HOT).As per your shout out in the thread under this one. As for those other bats, I do not believe those also meet the requirments as they would need an ASA stamp on them to to play in an ASA tourney or league night. There are plenty of hot ASA bats out there, you just need to do some research. Just type in ASA bats and you should get a numerous amount of bat companys to pop up. Or join some softball groups on Facebook and just put out there your looking for an ASA bat and people will respond back to you with bats they will sell you cheap if you dont want to purchase a new bat (I'm in 3 groups and everyones selling bats). JMO, hope this helps a little. |

Since most of the ASA leagues went to the 52/300 compression balls they have made the ASA bats hotter. Most ASA bats now will have the ASA only stamp. If you use the new bats with 44/375 balls the bat will last approximately a season or so depending on how hard you swing. I ended up damaging 2 before they went to the low compression ball. |

This is the basic list under that tab: https://seniorsoftball.com/?page=37 ASA is now USA Softball which may cause some confusion. This is the guidance that I have been given on bats: https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Softball/Certified-Equipment/Equipment-Bats https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Softball/Certified-Equipment/Non-Linear-Bat-Compression-Thresholds I have also seen this but is not on their site, so cannot vouch for its accuracy: https://www.doubleaasports.com/page/show/3026875-2019-non-approved-asa-bat-list So far I have not seen an actual official list(s) for approved/non-approved bats for 2019. I do not know about USA Softball in other parts of the country, but here if a bat passes the compression test it is legal for tournaments no matter what stamps that it has on it. Note again: This paragraph and the three links above have nothing, zero, nada to do with SSUSA bat policies. This is for USA Softball only. For anything to do with SSUSA approved bats, use the links from this site only. |
May 14, 2019 Wayne 37 Men's 65 773 posts | Not for sure, but I don't think they make bats now that are legal by U-Trip with the ASA stamp on them on them anymore. Believe they've made the ASA bats specially now to hit the grapefruit ASA softballs. U-Trip bats have been toned down. Those things are all over eBay now. I have the newer Miken Ultra ASA certified bat only and it hits pretty well. Much better than I thought it would with the ASA balls. My day league at one time didn't allow 1.21 bats at one time. After much whining and crying they have allowed the SSUSA approved bats. They wanted to use the 44/375 ball, but I think somebody talked some sense into them that most players don't play tournament ball and wouldn't have the reaction time for those. We use the ASA Trump 52/375. I would imagine SSUSA allows any bat with a 1.20 expect the Miken Ultra II with the ASA 2004 stamp. I have an ASA Mike Ultra 27 ounce I will sell you practically brand new, but the end cap needs be replaced as it broke. |
