I'm curious. How does Session 1 & 2 come out in the end of Aug? They play this week. Session 3 which is next week. Nothing. Also this is the same story every year. Just thought you should know.

What does this mean? ". The Session #3 Master Plan was completed around 4:00 AM today (Monday), but before beginning to generate the actual part you see, a Session #1 55-AAA team withdrew ... So we circled back to re-do that (six hours and counting so far) and then it will be back to Session #3 ...

This was a previous message you posted. Day's back.

There isn't enough time to provide the detailed procedure of what it takes, but here are a few of "quick-hitters" (so I can get back to finishing S3 today)...
• There is NO commercially available software that will schedule a 2,000± game, 611-team schedule on 33 facilities across 9 venues ... I do it on my own, front to back, every year;
• S1 and S2 teams (55+ through 85+) are MUCH better about entering and paying on time and filing complete/accurate rosters ... We don't schedule a team until those all happen;
• S3 teams (40's, but particularly the Men) are not so much so ... FOUR 40-Men's teams begged their way into the tournament well after the entry deadline due to a variety of "the dog ate my homework" type excuses as recently as last Friday ... I was the idiot who allowed them in the tournament because I think everyone should play who wants to do so;
• The S1 and S2 supporting paperwork (voluminous) had to be ready for transport with the awards and other stuff going on the truck at 4:30 AM Monday ... The schedules you see represent maybe 5% of the effort (and 95% of the demand to see);
• The 55-AAA that bailed out did so yesterday LESS than 24 hours ago, and less than 48 hours before their first game ... The re-write consumed almost all of yesterday (which had been projected as S3 finishing day) and is not as easy as crossing them out with a Sharpie ... I wish it was!; and
• The "Master Planning Grid" comprises 80% or so of the effort ... When I publish the S3 grid later today, I'm reasonably certain that will be obvious if you have a moment to look at it ...

Hope this helps in understanding the complexities and magnitude of the effort ... Good luck! .. Now it's back to work, thanks for the diversion!

Jeez Dave! Only 600 teams at 9 different complexes on 33 different fields where there are time restrictions, field restrictions due to size, etc. Quit your crying! It sounds like Still Got Wheels feels he can do the job better then you. I say give him the job. I bet you don’t spend hardly any time putting this together. Think about all the time you could spend with Fran. Oh wait - Fran says don’t give up your day job. I don’t know how you put up with clowns like this guy before every tournament. LMAO

You know what happens every year? Some guy asking when the schedule will come out. Every year. Never fails.

Chico Senior. Really Clown...? Dave responded which is what I wanted. He explained. I said thank you! Now why even give your stupid a$$ opinion.

Dbax - Thanks for not attacking. I was a general question regarding 40's over the years.

Really appreciate you Dave for responding! I wouldn't want your job. An if you felt like I was attacking you that wasn't my intentions.

Thanks

Sounds like Still Got Wheels has nothing but time on his hands. He should definitely offer up his services to help out. I heard the only thing slower than 40's schedule coming out is Still Got Wheels running in the outfield. From what I have been told, his team should just stay home cause Vegas is a long way to travel to go 0-5. (I may or may not know Still Got Wheels and this post may or may not be in jest)........come on Vegas, cant get here soon enough.

Hey guys ... No worries here and no reason to bicker! ... And yes, it is an annual occurrence that comes with the job ... Simple truth is some people have a problem differentiating between when they WANT something and when they might actually NEED it .. In that regard, I WANT and NEED to conclude this month-long effort and get myself to Las Vegas for the fun! ... Session #3 will post later today ...

Thanks HAT MAN ... I actually did that two games in a row ... Split squad games playing yourself isn't the plan! ... They're both fixed ... Refresh your download and it should look better!... Thanks!
