Player ratings help

I'm think I'm stuck but want to make sure before I just give up.
I'm listed as a major plus player, our team is folding due to lack of players. 6 of our players moved up in age an will play with that bracket. What I'm wondering is how they work the process of player appeals? I need to get down to major to even have a chance at playing senior ball, at this point. We just don't have the teams in my age bracket to support Major plus players. With the few there are across the Country, there just isn't a place to play. We have 1 major team in the year class below mine but they are picking up guys just turning 50, not guys over 55. How does it work? Do I call the national office?
I really don't want to go back to playing the kids game, it's much better playing with guys that get it. lol

MN26 - Best advice, call the Home Office on West Coast time. They will tell you that you need to fill out the correct player appeal form BUT honestly not sure it will be granted just because you don't have a place to play (usually medical related but I am sure there are some circumstances where it MIGHT be granted).

That said, if you are a 55 yr old with M+ status, you COULD play 55M as they are allowed 3 players in the rating above (55M+). If you are a 50M+ and are trying to play 55M, not sure that will happen UNLESS you stay in 55 for the entire calendar year (which would then make you a 55m+ player). If you play ANY SSUSA tourney in a calendar year at 50, you will remain at the rating you were last year, 50M+ (I found that out the hard way last year).

Again, best advice is to speak with George or Tiffany about your personal playing history, they are ones that handle all the ratings related question and will be able to help answer your specific questions. Good luck!

Thanks, that's what I was a afraid of. With zero teams in my age bracket available in the major class, senior ball has forced me out of the game. There is one major plus team now but they are new this year and are bringing back their team plus a couple of our guys. Looks like I'm done with senior ball until 60.

MN26 ... mck71's advice is sound ... You are an anonymous poster here, so there's not much we can do if you aren't willing to commit a few minutes to make that phone call as suggested ... Be proactive and most likely play ball this season, or be a victim and probably not play ... SSUSA Home Office phone is (916) 326.5303 during normal business hours in the Pacific time zone ... Hope we hear from you ...

You will hear from me. Not sure how you will help when there aren't any teams in my area to play on. An you don't update the team lists or give out info on contacts. But, I will call for sure. Thanks

brakeman - not sure if there is any "secret", I have never had an issue where I called the Home Office or emailed that hasn't been addressed (had one the other day and George called me). I realize that George was not healthy last year as well as Dave end of last year/early this year but the rest of the staff were more than helpful even if under the gun to make up for people being out (Fran got on the phone to help me out with an issue with scheduling). If you spoke with Tiffany, not sure what your issue was, she has always been more than qualified to answer my questions.

I also realize that there are certain times when they are WAY more busy that others (like around multiple TOC Qualifiers/bigger events and of course Vegas) so I TRY and temper when I expect to get my answer, sometimes not when I WANT it but usually within a reasonable time. :-)

Had a great discussion with the National office. I went through my problem, she said let me see what we have..... and there is one possible team that borders my State so she is going to contact them. Aside from that there are no other options unless I could somehow hook up with one of the 9 total Major Plus teams. Most of which I would have to travel 100's of miles if not a thousand miles just to reach. I have 2-55 teams in major that border my State, basically those are my only options at this point and she wasn't sure if either were having teams next season. OUCH.
But I want to thank everyone for the help and Steph at the National office for taking the time to see what was available for me.

Are you major plus in all the other association too - ISSA, NSA, GSL - you could play with a team in those.

brakeman ... Maybe help us out a bit? ... We don't have any "unidentified anonymous messages" floating around ... And George, Dave and Rachael have all been out recently with major medical issues, so we're a bit short-handed ... That's NOT your problem to solve, but it's a complicating factor in trying to get back up to speed ... Any ID help will improve your odds, since we're out of guesses ... Thanks!

We don’t have any of those tournaments around the upper Midwest, that I know of. I’m not sure how they rank players. I was contacted by the team Steph contacted and they are over full, the manager said. Not looking good. Now I know why nobody wants to play major plus. Lol

Business hours in the Pacific Time Zone @ (916) 326.5303 ... Ask for George or Tiffany ... Be prepared to be identifiable as to who you are and any team(s) in the mix for the discussion ... Good luck ...
