BAT TESTING LAB CHANGE • Summer 2020
RUMOR CONTROL RESPONSE • Sometime later this calendar year, the "BPF = 1.21 Standard" WILL cease to officially exist by that name/number designation ...

• This is because the testing lab run for decades by Dr. Brandt is closing ... Dr. Brandt is going to embark on a well deserved retirement ...
• A new testing lab ("NTS") will be taking over the testing and certification process later this year as soon as the final test criteria is approved ... That test will be to confirm essentially the same performance criteria as currently, but will have it's own nomenclature instead of the previous "BPF = 1.21" designation ...
• At that time, we will discontinue using Dr. Brandt's facility for testing ... Any/All bats tested and approved by Dr. Brandt before the time of the testing lab change-over will be grandfathered in for sale and allowable use in SSUSA sanctioned play ...
• The former graphic on-bat representation of BPF compliance will be replaced with the following "NTS" logo ...
