100% quarantine, 30 days
SSUSA Please cancel ALL softball tournaments for All ages for 30 days and then revisit topic.
Quarantine only works if all ages contribute. Note that Professional and College sports are in, even Little League as well as many local Senior softball leagues. NCSSA, Northern California Senior Softball, the biggest association outside of SSUSA is in as of March
14. There is a time to be macho and enjoy the great game but save it till the virus is controlled.
Thank You
Davy

Sorry - I disagree
Being outside playing ball sounds great.
I am not one to go hoard all the toilet paper and this is just another bump in the road of life. So many other things kill so many people and if your sick stay home.
Wow 2 posts in one day - crazy
I usually don’t have as much time to read all the same
people's mostly negative comments. Be constructive and not so negative show some love.
God bless and stay healthy!!

Be part of the solution not part of the problem. Please educate on why events are being cancelled.

According to a buddy of mine who works in Washington, they just came out of a 2 hr meeting and stated that Trump is going to enact the Stafford act within the next 48-72 hrs. This states that the entire nation be quarantined for 2 weeks. Will see if this really happens! I just don't understand when organizations much larger than Senior Softball are completely shutting down...senior leagues, little league, NBA, NCAA, MLB, NHL....why they can't they postpone this tourney until this thing gets under control!!!

We play outside in minimal contact sport. We do not have large crowds attending our games in a confined space.

Sorry I say play ball.

The Stafford Act just frees up federal money. Nothing about quarantine.

I also read that people were forwarding around an email/text/tweet about the 48-72 hour lockdown announcement and that it was for sure a hoax!

I wish everyone would stop listening to the media hype about this issue. If you're smart and follow the simple precautions outlined by the CDC, we're all going to be OK. I applaud SSUSA for keeping a level head on this issue. PLAY BALL!!!

I applaud SSUSA for making an informed decision that's in the interest of protecting players and families. Please see this link.

Just wonder if they are going to refund our entry fee or keep it toward future tournaments. They SHOULD refund it...anyone here anything about that? For those that had Air BnB houses rented in St George, they are giving full refunds if you reserved before Mar 14 with a check in before April 14...just access your reservation under "trips" then click on details and it will be right there for you just click on change or cancel reservation and scroll down and hit cancel. Then just send a quick note to your host (it opens a window to do so) on why and you will get a full refund.

The canceling of events is panic driven hysteria. We play outside, there is little to no contact with other players and few spectators. So where is the problem???

USMC, they are only giving credit to future tournament. And Viper, apparently the White House does not think it’s hysteria. And being outside has nothing to do with it.

thoseof you advocating for continuing to play...come on! this is just softball. COVID-19 has the potential to be life and death. Sure, most people will either not have symptoms or get better - but are you willing to take the chance that playing could cause even one death? Let's keep this in perspective and realize while it means you can't play the sport we all love for 60 days it is just softball. Don't be selfish.

I just heard that same rumor from someone else who claims to have heard it from a friend who has a friend in the military. Staring to sound like an urban legend...? In any event, you just cant announce a quarantine nationwide to start. People need time to prepare for it. There's a lot of logistics involved when considering 360 million (and that just documented population) people are involved. And what's with all these arbitrary crowd limit numbers? 100 people, and 5oo people limits, etc.? Okay only groups of 100 people, no more, so what if person 101 is clean and person number 1 or 2 is infected??? Ridiculous. Went out and hit 2 days in a row here in Michigan (it was over 39 degrees & sunny, nice spring day).

dbax, that should not be their decision! Many I have talked to would rather wipe the slate clean and get a refund then start fresh in 60 days or whenever it is deemed safe to continue!
