Sal, congratulations on winning the Burbank league. Enjoy your title, because Rocky is bringing back the Kings for the summer season, so you guys better load up! I heard D&K also got moved back down to Major, and that you guys are going to KC?

I'll be there with Audie and his Hollis Appraisals.

Looks like the 55 Major and Major Plus will be big this year. There is suppose to be a couple of good AAA teams from KC playing major also. Cheaper to play here than go to GA. I guess.

Bruce I hope you guys got rooms at the Casino's since they are the closest motels to the fields. Also since you are coming to my town make sure you get a good steak and bbq before you leave.

Unless they have changed the open fields around the ball parks to soccer fields there is plenty of room to take bp at the park and don't let the area fool you the complex is only 5 years old and is very nice.

If you want more info about the fields and area e-mail me at.

Bruce KC Masterpiece is no longer in business. Try Gates, or Jack Stack. There are many others but you will not have the time.

I know you don't know who this is and because of work rules I cannot post my name but here is a good clue. Except for the SPA I cannot play out of region because I am land locked in KC which means I have no major plus team to play for. So this is my one and only tournament this year. I will be playing for the Mavericks.

Mr. Ness, you're right, I didn't have a clue. I wondered where you were.
Thanks for the tips on the BBQ joints. Do they serve pork out there? :)

I'll make sure I look you up when we get there!

Yes, we will be there playing Major.
We are supposed to play this Saturday in Chino against
E. Ness's Mavericks. Double Play is slated to be there also.
Maybe we will play against you on the 24th.

Yes the do Bruce. Some of the best around.Make sure you look me up bro and I will be looking for Curts team also. I hope everyone enjoys the tournament. This is the first time in a long time we have had a senior world here in KC.

Donnie Thanks for trying to help but I don't know of anyone going to those two tournaments this year.

Salio,
They will not let me play in those tournaments. Right now I can only play in SPA events with the Mavericks. I hope that changes in the near future and some other associations do as SPA has done but for now it is SPA only.

I not only know your identity, I know where you live. :-)
GSF - 55 will be in KC... I spoke with Ridge yesterday and he also says that this might be the very best 55 major + event that SPA has ever had... perhaps 8 teams.
We have had this on our calendar for some time.
Thanks for the BBQ info, too.
:-)

KC Masterpice is still in business. They are located at 110th & Metcalf in Overland Park, KS.

The KC Barons are a very good local 50+ AAA team and will be playing in the 50+ major division. It made more sense for us to play in this one instead of going to Daulton, GA. What other 50+ major tames will be playing in this tournament?

Brett,
You know KC Masterpiece is to far from Liberty and cannot compare to the above mentioned places.;)

ODB,
I have nothing against Texas BBQ but my preference is KC BBQ. Could be because I grew up on KC BBQ and to me nothing compares. I am sure everyone has their own style of BBQ they like or grew up on. besides you left CA to retire in Texas so you only know one style;)

Brett Jack Stacks on the Plaza is great also.

Ok Brett and Nessey, I have these as a must try:
Gates , Jack Stack and Arthur Bryants. Is Martin City convienent to the ball fields? How about the Gates, and Bryants?

Bruce Martin City is not close to the ball fields. The one on the plaza is a lot closer.

AB is just across the river as is Gates. North of the river where the ball parks are there are many bbq places but none of them are as famous as the ones mentioned. When I see you on Friday I can give you directions to all these places.

Bruce, there is also a great BBQ joint (especially known for their ribs) in Excelsior Springs, which is just north of Liberty a little ways. The place is across the street from the Elms resort. They usually have good live blues bands outside on Saturday nights.

CRUSADERVB, the tournament is being held at the Fountain Bluffs sports complex in Libery, MO. There are 2 casinos (Ameristar and Harrah's) near by and lodging is available within fairly close.
