...And that's exactly how rumors get started and spread ... Here's the ONLY official word, from last evening's (05/27/20) SSUSA Newsletter ...
__________

California - No end date on Stay-at-Home Order, Indefinite
June 12 - 17: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Sacramento/Placer Counties, CA
June 16 - 21: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Hemet & Cathedral City, CA/Yuma, AZ
July 28 - August 2: WESTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Sacramento/Placer Counties, CA*
These three TOC qualifiers remain on as scheduled.
A final decision on the Northern California State Championships will be made May 29.
The Southern California State Championships will be confirmed next week.
*Reminder that this year teams do NOT have to play in a qualifier to compete in the Western Nationals.

Not spreading a rumor this is actual truth from a person at the facility. I have valid contacts from those areas. Not trying to be negative Nelly just posting what I have received. Its just one park.

Only "God" could open California at this time. SKings24 no need to apologize...I believe you speak the truth. Time will tell. Be safe

No problem. you know the mindset these days, (especially CA), just give everyone a trophy and a t-shirt and call it a day...problem solved. But ya' gotta wonder, just what would a senior softball riot look like compared to what we are seeing on TV these days...... :-)

You were 25% correct and, therefore, 75% speculative and uninformed ... We appropriately deferred a formal announcement because there were three other potential venues in play in addition to Sacramento that could have allowed us to pull it off if those dominoes had fallen in our favor ... Elk Grove ... Roseville ... Lincoln ... They didn't, but we tried ...

LOL, lets just say we agree to disagree, I knew from my park contacts well in advance during the week. Since you only had two parks listed Sac Complex or Foskett those were not going to happen per the county and Elk Grove where I host events was not open yet per guidelines. So the percentages are the other way. But we are good it all was cancelled per the guidelines the counties have in place. We all as directors want to run events but its going at a snails pace to get parks up and some counties won't even open until after the Summer time, which makes it even more difficult.

@SKings24.... So you're saying the way things are going, you think their will be NO SOFTBALL THIS SUMMER!!! and the Western National Championship in Sacramento on July31-AUG2 WILL BE CANCELLED AS WELL.....

This is my opinion on SSUSA running tournaments in California or anywhere else if the organization has the go ahead from the proper authorities 2 weeks prior to the tournament date they absolutely will run that is what they do.I also don't believe that even in jest should anyone talk about rioting

LCLMOTION22 - All I can speak on is the Alameda County and others in the Bay Area may not have Softball at all, I have parks that I use and this is the information I am getting. So I am looking for parks where the restrictions have been or will be lifted fairly soon. As for the Nationals I can speak on that, not going to start rumors as that is over a month away so anything can happen. I have contacts at my various parks in Elk Grove and Sacramento. Elk Grove may come online shortly as for Sacramento I heard nothing thru June. I am only sharing what I know from my communication.
