Once again..... SSUSA is doing everything they possibly can to get teams back on the field as quickly, and as safely as possible. Whatever the issue is, I am confident that all avenues are being exhausted. Patience, people.

Softball and baseball start dates in NY according to new phase in is July 6.
But one stipulation is no tournaments with multiple teams or out of state teams
Not sure if this applies to Syracuse area because all counties are in different phase in rules. But that being said Syracuse recreation dept has info so Tournament is either on or off so decision should be made as of this date

Im pretty sure SSUSA made an announcement along time ago that if any Tournament was Cancelled they would let the Teams know 2 weeks prior to
a Tournament via the Website, Message Board and Managers.

Which in this case the Northeast Syracuse NY 2 week Deadline
is this Friday June 26th.

Its only 2 days away we should all know the answer by this Friday.

Remember
SSUSA is doing their Best to get this Tournaments in despite dealing with
a Serious Virus in our Country that affects us all.

Not to split hairs but I believe the first day of the tournament is July 7. Which would make today two weeks ahead. But as you said I’m sure SSUSA is doing everything possible to make this happen. I’m sure they want it to happen as much if not more than we do. Hoping we get the green light. Good luck to all involved.

The county is working with state now to see if we can do this...they want it to happen and will put in any requirements to do it.may have to get tested 3days prior but it will have to be safe as possible

I'm with Jeff50, don't delay making the decision. If the area is not ready to open up for softball tournaments so be it. Being overly cautious with somethings is not a bad idea.

UPDATE TRAVEL ADVISORY ( NJ, NY , CT )

New Jersey, New York and Connecticut have started a Travel Advisory starting at Midnight tonight.

Anyone Traveling from these 8 States listed below to NJ, NY or CT

Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, North & South Carolina, Utah and Texas
are required to Quarantine for 14 days

I personally don't think Syracuse will be cancelled because this is a
NorthEast National and alot of Teams from those States will not be traveling here except maybe--------Florida.

Just my opinion

Im sure SSUSA is doing everything in their power to allow the Teams to
play under this Travel Ban. This is a difficult time for everyone.

I hope this information helps

Stay Safe

As stated in my email on Tuesday the Governor announced
last week that Baseball and softball leagues could start playing
on July 6 but there was no tournaments allowed where multiple teams
would be at 1 location and no games with out of state teams until further notice. All recreation dept’s in NY received new polices last week so
Tournament should have been cancelled last week.

Answers to popular MARYLAND CLASSIC questions

Carroll County Sports Complex (5 fields) in Westminster, MD will serve as the host. We're on the hunt for more diamonds. Teams that entered the Syracuse tournament will get the first crack at entering the Maryland Classic- probably a 36 hour head start. Afterwards, new teams can enter on a space available basis.

Dates of play-
July 7-9.... Men's 65-80
July 10-12.... Men's 40-60

The Maryland Classic is NOT currently a TOC qualifier. SSUSA is looking at events going on around the country and may have some update in the future. As I type this message, the answer is no. It's a WMC qualifier, but not a TOC qualifier.

The Maryland Classic is a 4 game guarantee for $450. If you already paid for the Syracuse tournament you can transfer credits to pay for this one. If you have not paid for Syracuse you'll need to make that payment to me (see tournament page for details).

Personal note.... If the July 7-12 dates don't work for you, take a look at the Bert Bennett Memorial, which will be played a week later at the same facility. Dates for that event have been revised (now July 15-19).

Tim, Thanks for making the arrangements to get a tournament at Westminster. You do a really good job for the players and I just wanted to let you know I appreciate how much effort you put into the season.... The people in California could learn a lot from you... Thanks again..

It would be great if the Westminster tournament was made a TOC. There have already been numerous TOCs lost this year... Making it a TOC might bring in more teams for the tournament and it would be great gesture from SSUSA...

Cookie92- Quite the opposite. I've learned more about this business from the people in California than anyone else. What I've been able to do with respect to seniors in the eastern states is a direct result of their desire to help me along. They've supported me in ways that others simply did not or would not.

You've got a limited view of what actually goes on from behind your desk. You don't see the passion and effort that they put into making these tournaments go. That's unfortunate- because Terry, Fran, Dave, Stephanie, Anthony, George, Tiffany, Tyler and Rachel are the type of people that I'd walk through fire for.

PS- The people in California were fully involved in this "Plan B" move from Syracuse to Westminster. They were working their butts off until 4pm yesterday to make it happen in the State of NY and in other locations while also working this angle with me.
