| July 26, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | SSUSA'S WESTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2020 • "DRAFT" Game Schedules & Brackets DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets for SESSION #1 of the SSUSA's 2020 Western National Championships in St. George, UT, and Mesquite, NV, have been posted and are available from the links below and on the event's Tournament page ... As always, these DRAFT schedules are TENTATIVE, are subject to change and become final ONLY when released as "OFFICIAL" just before play commences ... NOTE: There will NOT be a Managers' Meeting due to the restrictions arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic ... Managers are solely responsible for the accuracy and legitimacy of their tournament roster, and will not be sheltered from a legitimate protest by an opponent if that protest is determined to be meritorious ... The Master Games & Fields Grid and the Participating Teams List have been posted ... Good luck to all! ... | July 27, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | SESSION #1 SIGNIFICANT REVISION • There were significant changes required for a variety of reasons, as follows ... • A team we thought was in the 65-Major and another in the 70-AAA had not, in either case, completed their entry for the Western's and we erroneously scheduled them in the first DRAFT; and • The City of St. George changed our available field access hours for Tuesday to accommodate their local league play and that forced the relocation of one division of play (65-Silver) from The Canyons Complex over to The Fields at Little Valley for Tuesday only ... All of the revisions have been made and posted online ... You may have to "refresh" your downloads to view the most recent and up-to-date versions (dated 07/27/2020) ... Good luck everyone! ... |

| Aug. 1, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | MESQUITE CHANGE OF VENUE • SSUSA was advised early Friday that the Hunter Park and Pioneer Park softball complexes in Mesquite will NOT be available for use during the upcoming Western National's ... This COVID-closure is effective immediately and there is no current targeted expiration date ... Arrangements are nearly concluded for expanded use of the previously listed St. George facilities and lease acquisition of other softball complexes in the area ... In addition to the divisions moving from Mesquite, certain other divisions of play will also relocate to meet the games demand geometry of the changes ... The tentative Master Plan has been redone to incorporate these changes and will be released shortly after official civic arrangements are confirmed, possibly as early as Monday ... Thank you! |
| Aug. 3, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | COMPLETE SESSION #2 SCHEDULE RE-DESIGN • The complete re-design of SESSION #2 of the Western National's has been completed to address the COVID-Closure of the Mesquite, NV, facilities on Friday ... We were successful in procuring the 3-field Archie H. Gubler Park complex in Santa Clara and the 2-field Spilsbury Park/American Legion Fields in Hurricane ... In addition to the divisions moving from Mesquite, certain other divisions of play were relocated within St. George to meet the games demand geometry of the re-construction ... Here's what we did under extreme field constraint pressure to "make it work" ... Please don't try this at home! ... • 60-AAA (13 teams) division moves from Pioneer Park to Gubler Park all three days; • 60-AA (5) division moves from The Fields at Little Valley to Gubler Park all three days; • 50-AAA (10) division moves from Hunter Park to the Fields at Little Valley all three days; • 40-Masters Men (11) division moves from Hunter Park to The Canyons for Friday ... The 40-Majors (8) play at The Canyons all three days ... The 40-Major Plus (3) play at The Canyons on Friday and Sunday and The Fields at Little Valley on Saturday; and • Women's 40/50+ (6) moves from The Fields at Little Valley to the Spilsbury Park/American Legion fields in Hurricane for Saturday only ... The Women will play at the Fields at Little Valley on Championship Sunday ... Revised DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets have been posted ... | Aug. 6, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | SESSION #2 REVISION • Due to the late withdrawal of the St. George Gold (UT) in the 65-Platinum division, the bracket was adjusted from a 10-team to a 9-team version ... The adjustments also resulted in a change in the Wednesday Best 2 of 3 Championship Series times for the Men's 65-AA division ... We apologize for any inconveniences ...
