Northern Championships, no fans allowed in
The Lake Alliance complex will not be letting fans into the park. However in a magnanimous gesture, fans can sit outside the complex around the outfield fence. Pay for two nights in a hotel, gas and food so my wife can sit in leftfield....nice.

And that's a very small inconvenience price to pay for the opportunity to play ball again after so long during what has now become a shortened season ... Good luck and play and BE safe!

Dave, c'mon 'small price'? 200 bucks plus?! Small? Maybe to you that's small, not me. I know the SSUSA policy but it would have been nice to have advanced warning of the Lake Alliance policy, decisions may have been made differently by players and teams. Now the day before the tournament starts we get an email informing us of this policy....dirty pool!?

Dave that’s all well and good but the tournament is also mandating everyone in the park wear a mask. Exception being on the field where catchers, umpires and coaches must wear masks. Off the field, including in the dugout, players and coaches must wear masks. This is not optional.
Failure to obide by these rules will result in an immediate ejection from the complex for that day.
If these rules are not followed then the health department will shut down the tournament.
With 30+ teams playing there will be some who won’t necessarily follow these rules. Personally I have no issue with the rules or social distancing but I would hate to see a tournament shut down because of the potential actions of a few.
I fully understand about the opportunity to play but if those in charge feel the need to implement these measures then I would have to question why even play at all.
Just my vent for the day.

OZ 40 ... Here's what we/I first received sometime over this past weekend ... Remember: THEIR park ... THEIR rules ... YOUR decision on cooperation or departure, there's no middle ground ... We hope you stay and enjoy ...

From Tiffani at Lake Alliance Complex Administration -

What we have in place for operations is, spectators will have to sit outside of the softball complex fence. We are not allowing spectators to sit inside (By the dugouts, bleachers, backstops, etc) to watch the games as the complex is enclosed and not enough space for social distancing. And to stay compliant with the limited capacity for outdoor events as well, that’s how we have kept everyone safe. Scorekeepers are welcome to be inside the complex to keep score as well, along with the players of the teams and coaches/managers, Potterville staff, umpire/tournament staff.

We will have concessions open which will have a limited menu (just depends on what we get for inventory & what we can grab) concessions is still cash only. My concession workers will be working in pairs to maintain social distancing and wearing masks and gloves while serving.

Spectators will be allowed to come inside the softball complex to use the restroom and get some concessions but Then must return to their seats or cars outside of the complex. We ask that teams that play the next game Don’t come in toI early and form groups while waiting for the games to be over. We ask also that once games are completed that teams don’t stick around for a while to talk as we want to make sure everyone is safe and encouraging social distancing.

Baseball bathrooms are open as well so we have increased occupancy for restrooms. I think I hit everything in this. If I missed something I’ll let you know.

stick8 ... These mandatory and non-debatable safety guidelines governing the competition are the result of countless hours of research and consultation with infectious disease medical professionals ... If they are too onerous for you, then by all means don't participate ... We won't take it personally! ...

Do people honestly believe that SSUSA would prefer to host tournaments in this coronavirus environment? If you are unsure- the answer is NO.

We are aware that parks were the LAST thing to be reopened after lockdown. We also don't want to be the FIRST thing shutdown.

Rukes are real simple. Bring your masks to the park. Leve your opinions at home.

Dave its not a question of rules being onerous governing my participating or not. I’ll be there with all oars in the water. And you didn’t read what I stated. I clearly stated I personally have no issue with the rules. I’m not one to challenge infectious disease experts research as you pointed out being the main reason for these rules. Out of respect for them and those in charge of the event I’ll follow the rules.
Again if players get booted or the event gets shut down because of not following rules then I question why have the event.

No worries stick8 ... I'm pretty sure we agree on this, with maybe one exception ... The possibility that some may decide they want to challenge and/or ignore the rules and thereby put the event at risk is not adequate basis to question "..why have the event.." ... A couple of that category of "objectionists" were summarily ejected from the St. George facilities at the Western's on Tuesday and it appears that cooperation and understanding are now running quite high! ... Everything is proceeding well right now at Erickson Park and we expect the same for Lake Alliance beginning tomorrow ... Have fun, good luck and play safe! ...

Dave, I wouldn't back out at this late date, at this point it's about keeping a promise to the team. That is why I posted that advanced notice of their policy would have been nice. I have lots of friends in that area and they don't 'obfuscate' the details. Stick, watch for my email and attachments.

So this is all about tying up the "complaint department" because you don't like the fact it took us a day or two to get the Lake Alliance word out ... OK, got it! ... It would be one thing if I even remotely thought the actual timing would have influenced your decision to participate ... I don't ...

ANYONE NOT FOLLOWING THESE RULES IS TO BE EJECTED FROM THE COMPLEX IMMEDIATELY FOR THAT DAY. If these rules are not followed, the health department will shut down the tournament.."

Quick out of context question.
Will signing the Waiver that we are required to sign add Players to the SSUSA roster or should anyone signing the Waiver already be on the roster prior to Tourney.

titanhd ... We're looking for a Waiver signature for every player who was an active player on the roster for this tournament ... All players should have been on that roster before the first pitch of your first game of the event ... If you're not in the group that finished today, please see Tim and/or Mike on site tomorrow ... They should be able to help you if any residual questions ... Thanks!
