Hotels jacking prices for SSUSA tournaments
It was just brought to my attention that Hyatt House which is endorsed by SSUSA for the Tidewater Classic tournament in Virginia Beach is charging 20 dollars a night extra to park at their hotels....this basically eliminates any discounts that SSUSA negotiated for teams to stay there March 25-28 weekend for $109 per night...I figured with the $20 per night extra and taxes and fees, it would be closer to $150 per room night for guys to stay there....i know Hyatt says free parking on their main website but individually, this particular Hyatt adds on the Valet parking daily fee....has anyone else seen this yet???? and is this asking too much to eliminate this fee especially when it is out of season in that area

bkb555- I just called the hotel and spoke with a reservations agent. She told me that valet parking has been reduced to $5 per day if you booked using the SSUSA group account. Limit of 1 car per room. I didn't have to ask for a special rate or raise a stink. She freely shared that info to me.

I saw what you saw on their website but the issue was pretty quickly explained to me. You can probably call back and get confirmation of the same. See you in a few weeks.

The bad news is that the tournament booking block closed out yesterday (3/2). Hopefully they'll let SSUSA add more rooms.

If you are playing in Saint George and do not already have your hotel worked out, you are in for quite a shock. Really sketchy motels are going for $250-$300/night. The town is booked solid and you are SOL if you don't have a reservation. I just tried Hotels.com for a room in Mesquite and there were none available, and that is 30-45mins away.

Will any of the ballpark parking lots allow for overnight stays?

I've seen RV's parked on the street behind Canyons 2&3, as well as the dirt lots next to the pickle ball courts over near the LV SB fields. WallyWorld off Exit 4 is not far from either of those parks. We live next to Unity Park in Ivins, and there have been RV's parked around the streets by the park. C19 may have delayed some events held in February. Today had the following events. Lake to lake team relay & Ultra; Red Mountain 55K/30K/Dirty Hurty Half Marathon; Sand Hollow 26.2 & 13.1. There's a men's SB tourney that started yesterday at the Canyons. LV may have had a girls SB tourney going.

For anyone who might consider an RV rental, call Elevation Fitness on Monday after 8AM(MT) and ask for the number for Clara (a trainer). She has several RV's she rents out for such events. Their number is 435-772-8348.

For Fabe type housing there's Arcadia Resort, a half mile from Gubler Field and about two miles from The Canyons. Their number is 435-922-0500. A quick search shows they are booked up for several units, but they have a bunch to choose from. Units usually have 4-6 bedrooms and most of them have one bedroom with up to 8 bunk beds for the grandkids. A whole team and wives could probably stay in one of these ulnits.

Good luck.
