April 18, 2021 Webbie25 Men's 70 2410 posts | Remarkable run I was looking at the scores and noticed the NorCal Reds won 6 consecutive ONE RUN GAMES in 65 M. That is remarkable, but they fell short in the final. Nice run, guys! |
April 18, 2021 DaveDowell Men's 70 4295 posts | Webbie ... I've been doing this a LONG time and have never seen anything quite like it ... The Reds played in every round of the Elimination Bracket (in itself a strange occurrence) and won all six of those games, as you mentioned, by one run ... The final runs in the Championship game, which they lost, came via a grand slam in the top of the 7th for the final margin of victory ... |

April 18, 2021 Robo Men's 65 13 posts | It really was a remarkable run. And what made it even more amazing is that, being a California team, we hadn't played together since before the pandemic hit. That probably explains why we got "mercy ruled" in 2 of our first 3 games. Congrats to the Scorpions for ending our run. |
April 19, 2021 LouieHawgs Men's 65 18 posts | Playing against the Redwood City/NorCal Reds since we were both playing 55's, I can tell personally tell you these guys just don't quit. More than a few times I thought my team had them done, as they were behind in the last inning, only for them to put together another rally and scratch out a 1 run victory. Hats off to our NorCal neighbors, what a great team wide effort! PS Thanks to Dave Dowell for running a "tight ship" at BLD during the week. Its always a relief when Dave is the Tourney Director knowing how much he does for the program and how he handles the tournament. Louie LaRocca R & R 65 Majors |
