Rockin Reno and Carson City
Is Carson City going to be used for the Rockin Reno tournament and if so what age groups and when will we know.
This is obviously for hotel reasons.
Thanks.

Centennial Park in Carson City WILL be used for the Rock 'n Reno Challenge Cup for Session #3 (only), on June 4-6, 2021 ... Based on the annual rotation, we anticipate that the Men's 50+ Divisions will play there this year ... Everyone else will be scheduled north, in Reno (Rancho San Rafael) and/or Sparks (Golden Eagle and Shadow Mountain) ...

You may want to check your "Softball Travel Diary" ... The 50's in the Rock 'n Reno event have played just twice in Carson City since 2011 (in 2014 and 2018) ... I didn't go back any further than 10 years ...

• 2020 - No tournament (COVID-19 cancellation)
• 2019 - Golden Eagle
2018 - Centennial Park (Carson City)
• 2017 - Golden Eagle & Reno Complex
• 2016 - Golden Eagle
• 2015 - Golden Eagle & Reno Complex
2014 - Centennial Park (Carson City)
• 2013 - Golden Eagle & Reno Complex
• 2012 - Golden Eagle
• 2011 - Golden Eagle & Reno Complex

Fact checking is most times helpful ...

Are you guys really that calendar & math challenged?? ... That's hilarious! ... It's actually twice in the past 10 years, and in another six weeks or so, it will be just three times in the past 11 years for 50's in Carson City ... Maybe we should put the 50's there for the next three or four years to balance things out? ... Too funny!! ...

YES IT IS ... In the last three seasons the Rock 'n Reno was played, the 50's have been at Golden Eagle (2019), Carson City (2018) and Golden Eagle (2017), which is exactly ONE time in Carson City, not two ... The premise by MANRAM is that the 50's have been in Carson City "..the last couple of years.." ... He's incorrect on that, as are you in saying that's it's "..twice in the last three seasons played.." ... For the 50's in Carson City, which was the original unchanged premise, it's "..two out the last nine years played, over the most recent decade.." ... Really, this is funny, and relatively uncomplicated, semantics! ... Good luck in Reno (or Sparks or Carson City!!) ... Have fun and be SAFE ...

This is pretty funny.....but does it even matter? The players that had been playing 50's and are now playing 55"s are like WOOOO HOOOOOO!! Suckers, lol

Agreed! ... What matters to me is hoping they haven't made any changes at the snack bar at Centennial Park in Carson City ... It's in my Top Three (maybe higher) in the entire country, especially when they fire up the BBQ grill! ... Getting hungry just thinking about it ...

It doesn't matter just your attitude at times.
According to your stats:
2018 Carson
2019 Golden Eagle
2020 no play
2021 Carson

I don't know where you get your math but that's 2 years at Carson in the past three years played, including this year.

Full Count, there are no field designations yet for 2021, so how can you say that 2021 is in Carson City?

Oh, I see it is anticipated that the 50+ will be in Carson City this year. I missed that.

MurrayW ... I'm just going to take a wild guess here, but I'm reasonably certain the 2021 event has not occurred yet ... [grins] ... Look me up IF the event happens ... I'll be at Golden Eagle every day ...

Looks like the 50's have played at Golden Eagle 7 out of the last 9 years. If using a rotating schedule, yes the 50's would be due to play in Carson City this year since last year didnt happen.

AJC ... It's not quite that cut-and-dried, but you are essentially correct: It's the 50's turn in Centennial Park this year ... In several of the years, BOTH the 50's and 55's played in Reno/Sparks and not in Carson City at all ... That was the scheduling circumstance in 2013, 2015 and 2017 ...

The reality is that Centennial Park is probably a solid "8" on the proverbial 1 to 10 scale ... But by comparison, most folks think Golden Eagle is about a "14" on that same scale ... Not a chance to make everyone happy every year! ... Good luck!

As an umpire, I like Carson City.. The people treat you great, parking is good, and they do a great job with the fields.. The back drop of that hill especially late in the day is awesome.

Great conversation... I would like to reel it back to the Main Question... When will field assignments be announced so we can deal with room reservations? Thank you! I look forward to playing at either location.

DonC13 ... The TENTATIVE Field Assignments have sort of been announced, but probably got "lost" in the more lengthy conversation ... Here they are again ...

CARSON CITY (Centennial Park) • MEN'S 50+ DIVISIONSNOTE: The 50-Major+ MAY be combined with the 55-Major+ for pool/seeding play prior to brackets ... If that happens, those two Major+ divisions will play at Golden Eagle Regional Park in Sparks ...

RENO/SPARKS (Rancho San Rafael, Shadow Mountain and/or Golden Eagle Regional Park) • EVERYONE ELSE

Good luck! ...

Junkie16 ... Probably ... The Carson City portion of the event doesn't begin for over a month ... When the host hotel there is arranged/announced, you'll have plenty of time to book ... Thanks!

Has there been an update to whether or not 50s will definitely be in Carson City or not? Trying to make trip plans, and would be nice to have accurate information so I can make sure I look for lodging in the right town. Thanks

YES, there is a Rock 'n' Reno Challenge Cup 2021 field assignments update ... Managers in the Men's 50-AAA Division were sent an information email on topic this evening as soon as the update was confirmed ... The 50-AAA division will now be playing in Reno/Sparks and NOT in Carson City as was originally contemplated ... The change was required due to the unexpected increase by more than 25% in the number of 50+ and 55+ teams entered this year (64) as compared to 2019 (51) ... There was no event in 2020 ...

Here's what it will look like since the Master Plan has been completed and is only awaiting final internal review before publication in the next couple of days ...

CENTENNIAL PARK - CARSON CITY (16 Teams)
• Men's 50-Major (16)

GOLDEN EAGLE & RANCHO SAN RAFAEL - RENO/SPARKS (48 Teams)
• Men's 50/55-Major+ (7)
• Men's 50-AAA (14)
• Men's 55-Major (15)
• Men's 55-AAA (12)

Good luck everyone!
