DVD on Hitting
Met a guy here in Montana that has or is doing a hitting DVD. I think it is called 'still got it'
The guy put on a hitting time up here and I would like to get more information. I guess it has warm up, get ready and hitting tech for senior players. Not just the hit the ball hard stuff. I found the clinic very informive.
Sorry I don't have a name.
Can anyone help ?

PS: This guys was young. About 55 or so. He was hitting BP at the field when our teams showed up to play. Our fences are 290 and he was hitting balls about 380ft. This is in Big Sky. I looked on line but could not find the DVD.

The DVD you are talking about should be out by Christmas 2007. As I understand it is being filmed at Arizona State University softball stadium. It will have tips on how to get back into shape, hitting and injury prevention and care from the head trainer at ASU. The hitting part should be very helpful to all levels of senior players.
I think it is by Bill Gateley and the head coach of ASU but not 100% on that.

Coach Myers is the head softball coach at Arizona State. One fo the best hitting coaches baseball or softball in the nation. If he did a DVD I would listen. Bill is one of the best pure hitters in senior softball and also a long time hitting guru. If these two did put together a DVD it would be worth a look. I think too many of hitting tapes are just how to hit a bomb and not geared for the rec level players like myself. My biggest concern is getting a swing that will work with my body or at least what's left of it. I will put a call into 'homerun billy' to see what I can find out.

What a great topics to comment on!
Slow pitch hitting and slow pitch pitching
which are both art foms to themselves.
I've just begun to learn and will do my own DVD
sometime when I have enough to say
about slow pitch pitching.
Suffice to say, slow softball pitching has given me a
renewed interest and vitality in Senior Softball.
However, I will make no more comments on the subject
as I see no ability to have a reasonable converstation
with Gary 19 already showing his malcontented and self centered demeanor on the thread.
Be free to email me
anyone who wants to discuss more about the art of Slow Pitch pitching.

Great observation einstein. It's only 8:00am here in beautiful Tucson, the dew is just melting off the cactus and he's posted 5 messages to 5 separate topics already, with none having anything interesting to say. Could be a long day.

Because hitting is in sense the same. The other reason to listen about this is BG has coached at levels far more advanced than most of us will ever know. Just because one can hit well does not make that person a hitting coach.
When I attend Bill's clinic I noticed the detail in which he could answer a question and how that answer could relate to differnt swings and players.
These guys that coach at high level programs know how to realate, which in turn makes them better teachers. They do this for a living therefore put so much time and effort, passion and work into their study.

First....... If you are afraid to pitch....... go to another position or retire.
Second....... have the pitcher wear protective baseball cather's equipment.

Einstein, I've seen enough of Gary19s rants that when I start reading a thread and see his name by a post, I simply skip reading his particular post! That way, I don't feel I have to get worked up and enter a no-win debate. Just my approach...

MD, Thanks. We got hot against a VERY good team! It's always good to beat your friends - especially those with whom you had the priviledge of playing several years! I will be very surprised if Clatta and the boys don't come out on top in the remainder of the Nationals in which they participate.
