player eligibility in 2 age groups.
Since SSUSA is not too prevalent in our area, we have to revert to the other organizations. I would assume that the rules are pretty much the same. A few weeks ago, we played in a SPA tournament and unbeknown to me as coach, we found to have had an illegal player that week prior was okayed be the organization's director, he was okay to play. Here is the issue: The player is 70 years old and rated AAA. It was originally okayed for him to be one of our three 70AAA players. He also played 65AAA (FYI he is mostly DH and catcher). So at this age why should he or anyone our age be "targeted" as any type of an impact player (term loosely used). Where does the age concern cease? I always believed he should have played and if he could play also with a younger age group, good for him! I just would like to hear your thoughts. Thank you.....
