Tournaments in Florida this coming autumn/winter
It's probably a bit soon to ask, and I don't want to start any rumors, but...we are 40 days out from the start of the Winter National Championships in Lee County, FL. I'm wondering if this tournament will have to be cancelled due to all the hurricane damage and recovery efforts that will be required in that area. Maybe the TOC at the beginning of Feb and the Spring Nat'l Championships in March, both in Polk County, FL will be affected as well. Any comment, SSUSA staff? Thanks!

The only comment we have currently is that it's a good idea to await the end of the weather event and give the municipalities a chance to do an assessment of their facility status ...

Since Disneyworld, Universal Studios, Legoland and every other tourist attraction opened on Friday, it’s most likely a go.

I agree with the response from SSUSA to wait and see on what is done in the Fort Myers area concerning the damage from Hurricane Ian. I don’t know what other teams have done but my players have all booked their flights into Fort Myers along with making our hotel reservations. We still have over a month until the tourney happens. Not sure how much damage has been done near the complexes and hotels in that area but do know the beach area has been hit hard.

Agree with titanhd. I can’t believe this is viable for Ft Myers. The sooner a call is made the better, especially if the tourney is moving to another location that would require changing hotels, flights, car rentals etc.
