It is with great sadness to report that our 65+ travel softball team out of the Cleveland, Ohio area has lost our manager today. Barry Benjamin sat down in a chair at noon after a morning of indoor hitting, slumped over and soon was gone. Barry was an excellent softball player and manager over the past several years but most of all was a great person and friend. He will be missed. Godspeed my friend and prepare those softball fields up there for the rest of us.
Cuda here from deep south Texas. So sorry to hear about the passing of Barry. I really did not know him that well since he was of a later era, but I watched him play over the years and admired his hitting ability. You can be sure I share your sorrow.
Sorry to hear of the loss to your team and families. To play at the age we do is a true testament to the love of the game and our team-mates. Take solice in knowing that he got to do what he loved one last time. God Bless Barry and your families.
