" At the published deadline for a tournament, our Master Scheduler will establish the time and date of the “Hard Deadline.” That is the time the schedules will be drawn." QUESTION: (a) How does this "Hard Deadline" differ from the tournament entry deadline ? (b) Is this an auxiliary/secondary date ? (c) How/Where will this "Hard Deadline" be communicated/announced ? |

[a] It's a date I determine and inform staff about to give them just enough time to tie down any roster, payment or special request issues so that I don't start my side prematurely and have to re-group ... [b] Typically, it's a couple days after the stated deadline and frequently a Friday so that I don't lose the weekend waiting ... [c] I communicate it to Staff, U.I.C.'s and Directors internally after reviewing and discussing any remaining outstanding items with Staff ... It's irrelevant externally, and therefore not a public disclosure date ... When I end up actually drafting a session, all entry fee payments vest as fully earnied and, accordingly, become non-refundable ... |
