There are still a couple of teams that are trying to get their roster / rating squared away, but these are the TENTATIVE FIELD ASSIGNMENTS FOR NASHVILLE- (reminder that TENTATIVE means "subject to change"

CANE RIDGE-
40 Major
40 AAA
50 Major Plus
50 Major
50 AAA
55 Major
60 Major Plus

CEDAR HILL-
55 AAA
60 Major
60 AAA
65 AAA
70 Major
70 AAA

The answer to the next question is- AFTER we get rosters finalized and AFTER I'm able to complete the Spring National schedule, which begins a day before the Music City Classic.

The schedule for Nashville is being built right now. We had some late adds, late drops and roster submittals that impacted team classifications. All of those are beyond my control. The draft schedule that I built a few days ago has been trashed a couple of times now, but I expect to have it in SSUSA's hands for review & posting late tonight. Patience is appreciated.

Hotel seekers.....
There are a few changes to field assignments- Here's the latest information (as of 4pm, EST)-

CANE RIDGE-
40 Major
40 AAA
50 Major Plus
50 Major
50 AAA
60 Major Plus
60 Major (change)

CEDAR HILL-
55 Major (change)
55 AAA
60 AAA
65 AAA
70 Major

Neither 55 Major, nor 60 Major will have the 8am games on Saturday. So, if you booked on the "wrong" side of town you have 8 days and at least 90 extra minutes on game day to get where you need to be on 3/18. Tim

Hmac24 ... Just a crazy guess here, but very likely as soon as they're done and pass final review ... I know the really sharp guy writing that one and I'm resasonably sure he has no incentive to delay their release ...

Hummm .... today is the Sunday before we travel to Nashville for the tournament beginning Saturday 03/18/23. Problem is we don't know at which complex we will play and can't book a hotel. The 2 complexes are 30 -40 miles apart & which complex we will use is still " subject to change".

The information you desire has been available for a couple/few days ...
1. Click on Music City tournament page for the event in this website
2. Find second column on that page
3. Locate top line in that column
4. Click on item on top line called Tournament Schedule
5. Find your Division of play on Master Planning Grid at Page 3
6. Navigate to your Division schedule
Good luck!

Zac7- Here's another reason why the SUBJECT TO CHANGE language is in place.... teams dropping out on Monday because they don't like the schedule, their start times, or who they are scheduled to play.

With that, I will be revising the Spring National and Music City schedules.

Tim, I would think most teams dropping are because of the weather forecast JMO. With that when will the revised schedule be updated? Thanks!

lb16- revised schedules are already posted to the tourney page for FL and TN.

Since you mentioned weather, I will take this opportunity to remind folks that SSUSA doesn't cancel based on forecast. All weather related decisions are made at the field, at game time.

Tim, I mentioned weather as the reason some teams probably backed out. Nothing stated by me about basing decisions by SSUSA on the weather. It's going to be in the in the 20's at night and low 30's sat. morning for pool play. That is why I believe some teams backed out. JMO!

lb16, less than 1/2 of the teams show up Sat with rain forecast for Friday-wet fields, low's in the 20s, hi's in the upper 30s with wind gusts forecast to be in the 25mph range for the weekend. Player safety will be a factor. I'll say this post will be deleted within 10 mins.

When I was younger, I would prefer to play in bad conditions rather than not playing. Two weeks ago, I was disappointed/angry that my team decided not to play in the Music City. Looking at Zac7's post, I must have changed my position as I have aged because I'm not heartbroken that I won't be playing :)

Scott .... you are wise beyond your years. I know at least one of the 4 teams in 60M and 1 50 AAA team will not be attending the tournament. Should play 1 pool play game and begin bracket play to finish the tournament by Sat. evening. I am still willing to bet that 1/2 of the field won't show up due to the extreme cold. Multiple injuries and busted bats are all that will happen.
