May 22, 2023 9 ball 26 posts | Individual player ratings Hello folks..I am 70 and am playing weekly in 2 rec leagues for 60+, and a 65+ senior league in RI. This is my 2nd yr of participation, with no prior history to form an evaluation of my abilities. I consider myself an average player within my age group. I would like to make myself available to teams for nearby qualifier tournaments. What is my player status? What, if any, restrictions are imposed as to which teams I may play for? There's lot of stuff here to figure out for a newbie. Tku geo |
May 22, 2023 DaveDowell Men's 70 4317 posts | 9 ball ... Welcome to Senior Softball! ... Presuming you reside in RI, you are eligible to play for any team at age 70+ (or younger) in just about any state in the Northeast (CT, ME, MA, NH, NJ, PA, RI or VT) and also a couple of Canadian Priovinces (ON or QU) ... Since you don't have any history with SSUSA, you will initially be categorized as having an experience rating history of AAA ... That is the second skill level (of four) in ascending order of AA, AAA, Major and Major-Plus ... You will need to be registered annually with SSUSA and you have choices of how many years you may sign up for, to a maximum of the number of years until you hit your next 5-year age group at 75 ... Please feel free to contact the Sacramento Home Office of SSUSA at (916) 326.5303 during normal business hours in the Pacific time zone ... Good luck! |

May 25, 2023 9 ball 26 posts | Ok thanks guys for info. I'll call HQ and sign up today for my 70-74 slot...$75 fee appears to be reasonable in support of the organization and to establish my status. Having fun as I slowly and safely work myself back up to speed. |
May 25, 2023 DaveDowell Men's 70 4317 posts | 9 ball ... That's great! ... When you come around to renewal at age 75, there's an even better good deal: Renew for ONE year (currently rate is $35), that gets you a "Lifetime" player card ... Again, welcome aboard, have fun and good luck! |
