Cal State Championships
As usual,
we had a well run tournament as you could ask for
given there were only 3 teams in the hunt.
I still don't know why cops were called to be present during
our first game with Kids Forever but I guess it's better
to be safe than sorry.

And personally,
I think any player
that truly wants to leave a team he doesn't want to play with any more
should be allowed to do so.
The Dan Smith era of buying and selling players.
litterally speaking is over and I for one
wouldn't want a player on my team
who didn't want to be there.
De facto slavery ended with the Civil Rights Act
of 1964 and everyone should be free
to play with whomever they want.
Period.

Last but not least,
Dave and Fran and the umpires did a very good job
this weekend.
Balls and weather were fabulous.
Fields were very good.
We had excellent games with both Kids Forever and The Farm
and it reminded me why playing softball at 60
can be so rewarding.

I will second Einstein's comments about the tourney.. Really felt everything went pretty smooth. The AAA division literally could have been won by any of the nine teams (yes, I said 9) participating. The outfielders complained a bit about the outfield ground, but, hey, what would you expect from the outfielders. The umpiring seemed consistent in most cases and the competition and sportsmanship was better than in most tourneys. Thank you Terry and Fran for a well run tourney and thanks to all of the other AAA teams for making this such a fun weekend.

softballer.... No... that would be our very unappreciated manager.... #19... I voted to keep that 30 lb ice chip in cooler but wiser heads prevailed and he was just doused with the cold water. You guys deserved the cudos... Kept it loose and fun without compromising the game.

RE: Mahaney Field 1 (reseeded, by the road)
Umps were great, Outfield was soft ( sand and some mud)and you sank into it, in spots especially right center and right field. Not even close to being flat. Not sure about the other two, but believed to be the same from what I heard from the players. I played RF first game so this isn't hearsay.
Well run event.

I agree with you JJJ EINSTEIN
they want to prevent this player from playing i think their motive is revenge.
a little late in life to carry resentments around
they will start to feel like a rock necktie after awhile
