Aug. 21 BANDITOS180 Men's 55 59 posts | Question regarding Worlds Looking at the tentative field assignments, looks like the 60-AAA and 55-AA are both playing at Shadow Rock and Hollywood Park, does this mean that the 55-AA teams will be mixed into the 60-AAA seeding games? If yes, what is the equalizer and HR count for those games? Just asking ahead of time and I know the brackets are not out, but odd that these are the 2 age groups playing at these 2 parks. |
Aug. 21 DaveDowell Men's 70 4432 posts | Question regarding Worlds BANDITO5180 ... The three 55-AA teams will play four (total) crossover games within the 41-game 60-AAA seeding rounds on Thursday ... They will also play two additional 55-AA seeding games on Friday prior to beginning their Double Elimination Bracket, concluding on Saturday ... They requested to be paired with the 60-AAA because the respective divisions have the same Rating Index (= 5), allowing the crossover games to be played "straight up", using the AA Home Run rule of one per game, per team, Outs ... Their request seemed reasonable to us, so we granted it! ... Good luck! |
Aug. 21 BANDITOS180 Men's 55 59 posts | Question regarding Worlds I understand with the run equalizer, but this limits the AAA teams to 1 hr and then out and removing 2 potential homeruns for those teams, doesn't seem fair, except maybe for the AA team. |
Aug. 21 DaveDowell Men's 70 4432 posts | Question regarding Worlds Yes, it may seem that way, but don't overthink this one! ... There are four AAA v. AA crossover games of the 44 seeding games that will be played ... You are a Western team and will play two games against Eastern teams, but only one of them could be against a 55-AA team ... That means it's a 1:22 chance, so the odds of you having a crossover game are about 4.6% ... The loss of two potential home runs in a single Round Robin seeding game on Thursday is probably not going to be the deciding factor on whether or not you are getting fitted for a Championship ring on Sunday afternoon ... In my experience, there are only two things you have to do to become a World Champion in a large bracket, and you only have control over one of them ... You have to play close to your team's maximum potential for an extended number of games (you control that), AND you have to catch a lucky break somewhere along the way, like a bad call going your way, an opponent's critical error or a lucky bounce (you don't control that) ... Good luck! |
