Each year, I am lucky enough to be a male player and seem to play on decent to good fields. My wife plays and every year at Winter Worlds it seems that the women in the 40 division are put at Mountain Vista Park. Those fields are terrible and dangerous. We take BP there and will not run after ball as the outfield is full of holes. Please look at the fields!!! There are much better fields all over the valley that are much safer.

Doing some checking they haven’t played there since 2021.

Thanks, Dbax ... Your observation is the perfect example why I generally avoid speaking in absolutes like "always", "every", "never" and similar ... All it takes is one factual error and you flush your credibility ... We're using the full adult softball fields inventory in the Phoenix Parks and Rec. portfolio this year, and it's an incredibly tight schedule ... It also didn't help that we "lost" Saguaro Ranch in Glendale due to the facility being closed all month for maintenance and the former Legacy Park complex in Mesa emerging from bankruptcy as a "youth sports only" operation ...

There are 20 fields in Mesa, plus four in Gilbert and six at cactus yards, all within 10 miles of Legacy. Do Mesa and Gilbert not allow tournaments?

Looks like the ladies are on Mountain Vista this year from the tentative schedule posting? I have not played there, but my ladies are. Are the diamonds really that bad? (asking because I care....)

Yes, they do ... Mesa and Gilbert (and Tempe, too) are fortunate enough to have pre-existing events scheduled with other associations on their facilities while the Winter World's are being played ... It's probably unreasonable for us to expect them to cancel any of those events so they can hand the dates to us at the last minute ... We'll be fine ... The City of Phoenix has been a marvelous landlord for over 25 years ...

LTSGOBLU ... It may not be wise to rely too strongly on the opinion of a random anonymous poster ... Mtn. Vista has been, for years, the desired location for many women's teams ... We're told they like the fact that the venue is set up for "all women, only women" ... There is also the best selection of hotel and dining options in the immediate area ... But don't take my word for it, either ... Let us know what you think on Monday after you've won! ...

Thanks for he quick reply Dave! The diamonds I have had the pleasure of playing on there have been great. If there are any issues, I know your group will handle it quick. Have a great day.
