"EXACTLY"

Why is every player looking for a new team says they hit for a 700 or 800 avg. Ive never seen in my 40+ years of
playing softball seen someone hit for an avg of 700 or 800 in every tournament. Ive seen a guys once in awhile put
together an awesome display of hitting for a tournament avg, but not in every tournament. "COME ON MAN"
I have a better on-base percentage than average joe. However, for someone who hides their name and is concerned about the batter's box rule, I would say you strike out a lot or foul out a lot. Instead of worrying about me, maybe I can help you.just say my brother.
Big Dawg !!!!!
Exactly!
I agree with cv elite. The questio I ask is why does the administrator allow it. Not sure about the comment on the batters box, but agree the rule needs to be informed. I see video after video of guys hitting bombs, but yet the front foot is clearly on the ground out of the box as the hit the ball. On the other hand I don't strike out much at all but I am a pull hitter and will foul out often.
I apologize for my bad grammer and auto correct. Not informed should have been inforced. And questio should have a n on it.

CVELITE.. So it sounds like you take walks as hits, it sounds like you take a lot of walks so there is
no way you "HIT" for 700/800 avg, WALKS DONT COUNT AS HITS they only count for on base
average. My average hovers around 500 to 650 based on hits only and I DONT COUNT WALKS
AS HITS, the last time I stuck out was about 25 years ago, it happens to everyone once every
couple of decades, so "COME ON MAN"

I know multiple guys that have an OBP of over .700 on a regular basis.. If you're averaging .500-600 on balls that are thrown 10 MPH underhand you should really spend more time taking BP.
I agree with John028, through out the year I will maintain well above .700 OBP. I will have the good day and some bad days. If you are hovering around .500-600, you should spend more time in the batting cages.
I don't count walks either in my batting avg. Look at some of these seniors if they could they would walk every time and then say they batted
.1000 seen it happen many times there just up there for the walk. WALKS ARE NOT HITS, I have to agree with nickname. nicknames probably has a 700/800 OBP counting walks. Its easy to stand there and take a walk and then puff out your chest at 1st base. Earn your place on first base and not with a walk, walks do happen from time to time its a hitters game.
I agree with yankeesfan12, through the years I have seem many players go to the plate and try for a walk. Softball is an offensive sport and I believe I am an offensive player. I can do more harm putting the ball in play. I have prided myself throughout the years as an RBI man more the hitting. On that also, I believe there is no such thing in slow pitch as a sacrifice fly, unless it is the last inning and the guy on third is the winning run with less than 2 outs.
I forgot one important aspeck of the game is sacrifice fly's. I don't count sac fly's as a time at bat but I get credit for an RBI or RBI's depending on the out come of the at bat
BigDawg14,

I hear ya however you're job as a hitter is to get on base any way possible. Whether it be a HR, 1B, 2B, 3B or a walk. I won't go looking for a walk but I'm also not going to do the pitchers job and swing at bad pitches when a walk is a guaranteed non out. Don't blame me for a taking a walk, blame your pitcher for not being able to throw strikes. It might be an offensive game but when you have a cap on HRs at all levels it's all about getting people on base any way possible.
John028, I agree there is nothing wrong with taking a walk. I have taken many and will continue to. A batter should never swing at a bad pitch. There are many factors that come into play during each at bat, number of outs, who is on base and what base the are on, who his the next batter. As a batter you have to analyze each of these factor and know your game as well as your team, the opposing team and how the umpires makes his or her call.
