Discussion: High price of softball bats
I've been scrolling around, looking for a new bat to purchase for upcoming ssusa season. Got "sticker shock" when I noted 2025 USA/ASA certified bat with price of $1000. Was even more shocked when they declared it came with no warranty. To each their own, but c'mon folks,seriously?! Any thoughts on this from my fellow players? Tku george
There are plenty of good bats for a lot less than $1000. You can get 1 for between $200 to 300.

Remember, Bat Warmers are not illegal to use. You can get a Soda Pop bat from $229 - $299. Suncoast has good bats also $240. De Marini has good bat too. These are good bats. Just do not use them in cold weather. You should not use ANY bat in games that are under 64° unless you are planning on breaking it. If that's the case, you will be buying a few bats during the year. That will get you to the $1,000 mark

Retailers usually have previous year bats for under $200. When I was young and playing a lot I put a lot of money into my equipment but even then would laugh at someone trying to sell a $1000 bat.
Proton ran a Black Friday sale. I picked up a Proton 'Hot Butter' senior bat for $200 and that included a free Backpack. I wanted to try out that brand and this seemed like the right time. Good Luck.
