Discussion: Paint chips on bats

I'm playing in Bullhead next month and I have a question.
Both of my gamer bats have paint chips missing on them, they show no signs of cracks or webbing.
What is the official stance on being able to use these bats?
I don't think there should be any issues with defective paint jobs from the manufacturer.
In the past umpires have let us use bats with paint chips missing. Those bats are NOT ALTERED. Just the result of hitting the ball. BUT, It all depends on the Director and the Umpire. There is always that one umpire that will refuse to let you use them. Just in case, I would bring a bat without missing pint chips. But also if they do not allow you to use your bat, I would have it compression tested. If it passes, it's legal. That issue came up a couple times in Worlds last year. Umpire said it was illegal and the Director over ruled him. Good Luck
