(1) If you knew a player on your "TEAM" was swinging an altered, dirty, shaved or rolled bat would
you "RAT" him out or just keep your mouth shut?
(2) If you knew a player on "ANOTHER TEAM" was swinging an altered, dirty, shaved or rolled bat would
you "RAT" him out or keep your mouth shut?
Yankeesfan12, Your posts may be taken more seriously if you weren't
an anonymous mystery writer. From the vernacular you use in this post "Rat" would imply a negative connotation to informing someone about a rule violation. As a verified and known Senior softball player I have read many posts about someone knowing someone, who knows a person who swings shaved or altered bats. I have never seen any proof of this being the case. But if I was 100 percent sure, I would have no problem reporting the violation. I would hope that most senior players would do the same to instill integrity into our game.
"EXACTLY"
OLLIE... Did a survey of 25 random posters on this site and came up with 22 poster were ANONYMOUS does that
qualify them as a mystery posters as you say???
If I was playing on the same team as you and you RATED out a player on the team it would be either you or I leaving
the team ASAP!!! I don't play with RATS!!!! Whatever happened to what happens in the dugout stays in the dugout.
The something goes for what happens on the road stays on the road. You never see or hear of pro baseball, pro hockey players etc etc spilling what goes on in the locker rooms it stays in the locker rooms between players. RATS
are not tolerated in any sport. The person using the illega bat will get caught sooner or later hopefully sooner. The unwritten rule in sports is you don't RAT out teammate or you can hit the road. Ive always played by the unwritten rule and seen alot of teammates from high school up through college and pro sports hitting the road and in pro sports traded or demoted to double AA.
The illegal bat user you never probably see again, but the RAT you will see in just about every tournament, players
will be asking and pointing there finger saying there is the RAT. I wouldn't want that TAG(name)to follow me around
the rest of the time I play softball.
Lol! From another anonymous user.
And people actually seem surprised that we pay exactly ZERO attention to anything posted by the anonymous keyboard courage crew here ... This thread is the poster-child for that rather sound theory ... Oh, and BTW, it's RATTED out, not RATED ... Hilarious!
Honest question-my honest answer.
Man on my team, I would pull him aside and ask him to lose it, If he tells me to stick it, I would tell the manager it is either him or me. I would be OK with either result. If the manager did nothing, I would distance myself from the team and the stigma that will follow the team when he does get caught. I would let the entire team know why I am leaving. Each man will then have to decide what they want to do. RAT him-no
If it was a player on another team, I would RAT him out in a heartbeat. I don't want to travel, spend a bunch of $$, play/give my all and get beat by an illegal bat.
I posted this several years ago. If, all the players on the other team have a bat in the rack. They are killing the ball. 6-7 players are using the same bat, U might want to take a look at it.

LMAO, might be the funniest thing you've ever said.. Ironic that he made such a big deal out of capitalizing RATED each time and had no clue he was spelling it wrong... SMFH..
Nickname,
You are some piece of work commenting like some organized crime figure. What happens in the dugout stays in the dugout? Seriously, we're not in Vegas. The crazy thing is that you would still play on the same team, say nothing, and when your teammate seriously injures someone probably claim ignorance, which is what your post is. Also, figures you would be anonymous. SMFH!

I hope I have made my profile public - you are the lowest of the low - to endanger people for the ego of another player or more likely yours - is unbelievable - we use the best possible bats ever made - I'll say it again - ever made - if you feel the need to hit or have a teamate hit an illegal bat for the addition 25 ft and take the chance of hurting someone in a game that we all pay for - to travel for - for our enjoyment - that's brutal - here's a thought for you - instead of what happens in the dugout stays in the dugout - How about you - just stay in the dugout and let the rest of us play with a good conscience
