I am exploring the possibility of forming a new men’s 70+ team, which will start playing together at the Winter Worlds in Phoenix, in November of 2025. The idea is to build a team of men, who are competitive, but want to make this a team centered on their faith and are open to regular prayer at games and holding each other accountable while playing a game God has gifted us with the ability to play this long! The team will likely be based out of KC, Missouri, but that’s open to change, depending on where the majority of the players live. If this sounds like something you might be interested in exploring further, please send an email to mogsoftball@yahoo.com and join me in this calling!
PS . . . MOG stands for Men of God
BTW . . . I really want our wives to be involved and travel with us too!
Well that could be a deal breaker.
Although I am turning 66 this year. I will pray for your team, we all need to acknowledge GOD gave us this ability to still be playing. As for Dbax, why should it be a deal breaker? My wife travels with me when I travel. She not only is my wife but also my best friend.
Our team name is MOGS - Mostly Old Guys
It’s a joke Dawg. Lighten up Francis.
Dbax ... We had another team in the Midwest that had the words "Old Guys" in the name ... Indy F.O.G. ...
Maybe I will start one called RAG. Ridiculously Ancient Guys. Good luck.
Anyone remember the team from Kansas City named "WOV's"?? Wiley Old Veterans.
Indy F.O.G team is still active, playing 70+. Our team name had a couple of different versions, Fine Old Gentlemen & F***ing Old Guys.
I played for the Arizona MOB which stood for Mean Old Bastards.
WOW ... That's a "blast from the past" for the AZ MOB ... Is Mike Mule still around? ... He hasn't been registered in about 10 years ...
Years ago in Nor Cal. Team called ODB, Old Dirty Bast*rds.
Fun team names. If I play for my team (RAG(s) and then switch to another team named Resilient Irrepressible Curmudgeons Hitting Extreme Shots, will I have gone from RAG(s) to RICHES?
I would definitely be interested in this adventure
Back in Massachusetts we had a team called borsop which meant
Brotherhood of retired softball old players. The age wax 40 or so because there was no 50+ leagues then. Things have changed in softball now.
Enjoy playing in any age as time does not slow down. Good luck in forming team.
