Discussion: Ranking and Rosters

Why doesn't SSUSA publish player rankings and rosters online like other associations do? They are the strictest around when it comes to players jumping teams so just curious why they are pretty much the only assocation(i know of) that doesn't post rosters at the very least.
John which other Association posts Player ratings? Just curious.
USSSA is one. If you are playing in a turny you can look at the team you are playing to see the roster and it shows the players rankings. There are a few ways to search things out on their site that is not just for managers.
One Nation is another that lists player rankings as well as team roster. ISSA publishes team rosters and I believe NSA does as well.
titanhd ... It's somewhat problematical to meet that publication request/desire because SSUSA doesn't rate players ... We DO keep track of a player's history with each team they have played with, including the rating(s) of those teams over the time the player was on the roster, but there's no player "rating" as such ...

Thanks for replying, DD.
I thought each player was tracked for their age and rating. My understanding is that my AAA team can only have 2 or 3 Major players on the team. If that's true,SSUSA must rate them some way, at least.
That information alone would be helpful to players and teams. I was told by several people that most of the players on a Major division team at LV Worlds a couple years ago were on a M+ team the previous year, but there was no way for a non-SSUSA person to check. Team rosters with player ratings would settle a lot of arguments.
LC7 ... We simply keep track of the ratings of the teams you play with at the times you play with them ... As you indicated, a AAA team may have up to three players who have a maximum rating-history experience with teams that were Major (or equivalent) within the current or preceding two Seasons (one season in the case of players 70+ and more senior) ...

There are a lot of variables involved, such as medical exemption appeals, rating appeal changes for teams, and the effect of players playing across different age groups ... Publishing, or making available, some theoretical maximum rating-experience history without those variables identified and explained on a case-by-case basis will complicate, rather than simplify random roster inquiry ...

Dave,

I can see how it would be harder to keep track of player ratings themselves but why can't rosters be posted?

Since you brought up Medical exemptions I have an honest question for you. 2 years ago Crawford Contracting was 50 Major and following Vegas were bumped to Major+. Upon getting bumped the team disbanded so shouldn't every player should have carried a Major+ ranking for 2 years according to what you posted in here? Every member of that team was granted a medical appeal and spent all last year playing either 50AAA or 55AAA? How does that happen? I can see a player or two getting exemptions but every single player is crazy.
