Just a question... Does USA SS look at the teams previous tournaments, before the schedule is finalize? We've played the same team at least 10+ times this year. OMG

SGW ... Fair question ... The generic answer is "No, we/I don't" ... I also don't know your specific team name, and there's no need to, but what is your age/division for this one? ... There aren't a lot of larger seeding pools, so the odds increase of seeing a familiar opponent ... In a 4-tem, full RR, those odds are 100% ... In a 5-team, two RR, they are 50/50% as you play two of the other four ... I schedule almost all of the TOC qualifier events, and Tim McElroy does the others ... I doubt either of us (I know I don't) checks each other's matchups ...

Another factor that could cause this for you, since you seem to play in a lot of our events (thank you!) is that I try to avoid seeding games between teams from the same or nearby states if possible ... If it's the "usual suspects" in an event, you may be seeing the same mug shots too often ... Down the line, here's a suggestion ... When you enter an event, feel free to put on the entry form: "..If you can do it, please schedule pool games against someone other than Dave's Dummies because we've seen a LOT of them this year ... If we get them in bracket play, that's on us.." ... I see, and honor, that request all the time ... Good luck!

Good to knmow Dave! The York PA teams (and surrounding areas) are also playing eachother a lot this year in seeding games.
It would be nice to go to a tournament and not play the same guys we just played in a league game on Thursday in a seeding game on Friday.

Does a team's success in local ssusa tournaments mean as much as their success in the ssusa Worlds for deciding whether to move them up/down? I'm also curious how other teams feel about it?
