I want to thank everyone for taking the time to sign the card Mark Webber passed around at the 70 world championships. This includes Dave and Fran Dowell, Terry Hennessy, one of my favorite umpires,James, and all the players and family members.
Short version of my medical scare, I had major back surgery that led to massive blood clots in both lungs. I was transported to the hospital where I underwent emergency surgery to clear the clots. I was given less than 10% chance of survival.
After numerous tests, this week I was informed there was no damage to my heart due to the clots. I am on the road to recovery.
