Travel industry woes in US as it related to tournaments
I read about low torunout and issues with TD's, directors players playing up, playing down etc and it struck me especially after this week that traveling back and forth especially long distances has to be affecting tournament attendance. Major time zone changes at least for me don't seem to make sense given the absolute travesty that the American tavel industry has turned into. You look forward to something, take major vacation, forego pay, and the highlight of your trip is that the airline didn't kill you, kind of takes the enjoyment out of playing. Any serious service issue and your nutrition isn't met, sleep patterns ,medical requirements whatever are all seriously disrupted by a whole industry that doesn't care. It gives great pause to laying out discretionary income to go play in a torunament thousands of miles from home when there are plenty withing driving distance of your home. The travel industry for whatever reason can't seem to get out of it's own way.

HEY GRUMPY...YOU COULD ALWAYS DRIVE AS THAT IS WHAT WE DID YEARS AGO...WHEN IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO FLY...YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY U CAN ACTUALLY DO THESE TRIPS RATHER THAN COMPLAIN!!!MOST OF US DO FLY TO THE TOURNEYS WHICH IF WE HAD TO DRIVE WE WUD NEED A COUPLE OF EXTRA DAYS JUST TO GET THERE...I HAPPEN TO WORK FOR AN AIRLINE AND IF IT WASN'T FOR GRUMPY OLD CUSTOMERS LIKE YOU WE COULD POSSIBLY DO A BETTER JOB FOR THE CUSTOMERS THAT DON'T COMPLAIN!!!! GET A LIFE!!!!

Doker aren't you the guy crying about being moved up and having to play tougher competition. I stand by comments on the state of the trravel industry and nothing like seeing an armada of fire trucks and ambulances as your plane is making an emergency landing. I don't recall complaining to the airline I just won't fly them anymore. I'm the type of customer you should be most concerned about the ones that don't complain we just go away never to come back. It takes a lot of effort to gain a customer and very little to lose them.

ACTUALLY I DIDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT MOVING UP JUST THAT IT CAME AT SUCH A LATE DATE AND THE TEAMS WE LOST TO ARE STILL AA...THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY IS NOT PERFECT BY A LONG SHOT BUT IT SURE BEATS DRIVING ACROSS COUNTRY TO GET TO A GOOD TOURNEY!!!!!

JOE: We r glad that Rose, made it back home. Somewhat off the topic, but, travel misfortunes do happen.

This is why, we Seniors should spend the extra $ 5 to $ 10, on FLIGHT & MOTEL INSURANCE.

Why, was CJ & S, the only SW team. Cost of travel, time to travel, cost of miss' work, & or the BS, of Security @ Airports.
Also, how E-Z, is it to get to the ball fields from the nearest Airport?

There appears to be several to many events that r staged @ Cities that r out of ones way, unless one lives in that Area. THIS, MAY MAKE SOME PLAYERS THINK?

Good Luck next yr in Major Plus. Glad that Rose did not attend.
