Can you clarify the rule below by giving an example?

PROHIBIT SPECIFIC “CHIPS” – Proposal to prohibit a player who has received a personal rating history
write down from being a “chip” on a lower rated team for the current season • PASSED 10-1-1

Let's say, for the sake of illustration, that you carry a personal rating history of 65-Major+ ... And due to the severe psychological trauma that causes, you apply for a personal experience downward re-rating and we grant it, making you now a 65-Major rated player ... For the balance of the current season, you will NOT be permitted to be an "out of rating player" on a 65-AAA (or equivalent rating level) team ... You may drop "down" one level, from Major+ to Major via the re-rating, but not two levels until next Season ...

Let me give you a scenario.

In 2026 I receive a medical reclass for, we will take your mental health example above, from 65 M+ to 65 Major. I go and play on a team that is 65 Major. That 65M team currently has 3 65M+ players. Do I count as a chip on the 65M team.

It was my understanding that SSUSA was going to address how many 'chip' players and how many medical reclassified players you can have on your roster. If this is not addressing that rule, is there a rule in existence that shows the combination of chip and medical reclassified (personal experience downward re-rating) that can be on a team.

There are really two questions/issues in play here ... You are fine to play on the 65-M team, and are NOT considered as a "chip" because you were re-rated 65-M ... You CANNOT, however, play down another level on a 65-AAA team this season ...

The second issue is "how many re-rated" players can a team's roster have? ... The answer is TWO, and they are INCLUDED for the current season in the maximum allowable total of three out-of-rating players ... The National Rules Committee closed the loophole some teams were attempting to slip through to get, in effect, five out-of-rating players ...

Can you provide where that is documented in the rule book or summary of SSUSA committee meeting, or is this just accepted from message board posts?

I'm currently drafting the new Rulebook provisions language for these and other sections affected by the National Rules Committee actions ... These two issues will be codified and incorporated in:
