For those teams that played this past weekend at the Sac Complex, what did you like or dislike about the event?
Couple of things come to mind.
1) 55 and older teams should have played in the morning or early afternoon, never should have had to play any games under the lights.
2) both days by early afternoon couple of fields got behind by 1.5 hrs which made for long days.
3) Mileage of how teams are registered should be factored in. No reason for Fresno area or beyond teams playing at 4p on Sunday which didn't start until about 6:15p due to the delays.

Since you got zero responses I thought I would chime in.
1) Maybe you should contact SSUSA directly and ask for the Directors phone number or email and contact him/her with your concerns instead of blasting him/her on a website forum.
2) Maybe you could put your real name in your profile or sign your name to your post instead of playing anonymous keyboard cowboy.
3) Maybe if you are so unhappy you can create your own association, make all the rules that suit you, and be perfectly happy with your product. That's what makes America great. You can be your own boss, invite whomever you want, make all the rules, and be King.
Hope this helps.

1: pretty sure SSUSA mod's are on this board all the time.. but I get it... it's way too easy these days to Voice opinions on a message board.. Nextdoor... reddit... etc....
2 & 3: everyone knows who SKings24 is.... He's a director already for another association and has done a damn good job for a good 20+ years
Side Note: I'll be doing a drive by Saturday for another senior association down the road from SSUSA headquarters.. not to play just to check it out to see if coming out of retirement is in the cards for the near future...
Benji4 - this is a question not a knock on the group. I know you are from Washington based on your Profile so more than likely you were not present at the event. Feedback is good for them to understand where the teams are coming from and to discuss what if any changes could be done to improve the experience.
Thanks for the positive reinforcement Cuervo13
Cuervo, I have no idea who SKings24 is. Benji, well said. And it sure sounds like a knock.
Cuervo, Since Dbax and I both don't know SKings24 I guess he isn't as popular as you think he is. If he had signed his name or posted his real name on his profile I guess everyone would know he is.
If in fact he is a Director, all the more that he should have picked up the phone instead of complaining on a website and asking others to complain. Asking for feed back, doesn't include the complaints he posted about playing under the lights, long delays and traveling. Those are knocks on the Director, and maybe those are things the Director could not control.
Anyway I guess I'm just use to being around men with balls who sign their names or put their name on things they post.
Be safe.
Benji
Click on his posting name and scroll a little and you can find out his name and the sanction in CA that he is a director of, didn't take much to find it. Both of you guys have been on this board way longer than I have and I get what you are saying but I didn't read it as negatively as you did. Feedback is feedback and I read it as constructive but that's me. East coast guy so I don't know him personally but knew who he was from his posting history.
Good luck to all this season!

Allow me to address your points
1) call it a hunch but I suspect most seniors aren’t exactly thrilled to play under the lights. That being said conditions are the same for both teams. That’s softball
2) diamonds that get behind schedule has happened a million times and will continue to happen a million more times. That’s softball
3) scheduling game times is at the discretion of the TD. You can always request a later starting time for play in games if you know some of your team can’t make the early times. Sometimes they can accommodate you, sometimes they can’t. No guarantees. That’s softball.
Overall, the concerns you raise—-that’s softball.
Let’s play ball.
Have a good season!

SSUSA at least in my opinion takes no consideration in distance traveled for setting game times. Well over 90% of our games have started at 8:00 a.m. If they di I certainly have not experienced it.
The flip side to that same coin, Mikelmart, is that 99.6% of all teams that have made a "Later Start Request" over the past two decades I've been doing this have had that request honored ... Let us know if you want to start later and it will happen ... After the fact complaints are relatively ineffective by comparison ... Thanks!
