So looking for some clarification here. Guy starts his Senior career playing on a 50AAA team for 2 years and then left that team and started a new team which has been now ranked as 50AA team for 2 plus years. He is the Manager/Coach of the 50AA team currently and occasionally will sub on a 55M team when needed. How would that player still be classified as a 50AAA player and count as a chip on his own team?

But for basic input, here's what I understand in my 12 yrs playing and helping run a team:
Once you play at least 2 tournaments with any team (usually in the same season but not totally positive on that), meaning you signed the roster at the tournament AND you were listed as playing on the actual game cards, the player accepts that team's rating. So based on your scenario, he would actually be rated as a 55M player, which in the Rating Index equals 50AAA so yes, he would be a chip on a 50AA team based on the rules as I understand them.
