Sept. 21, 2007 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | TV TRIVIA Ok, looks like there is some interest in this. But we have to have some rules. Post a trivia question that you know the answer for. We will go with television for awhile and expand later. Whoever gets the answer correct has the floor and gets to post the next question. A new question cannot be posted until the member who posted the original question confirms that the answer is correct. If no one is answering correctly, clues may be given. And the most important rule of them all is absolutely no GOOGLING OR INTERNET SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS! NO CHEATING! Here we go..... Dick Van Dyke Show..... What is his son's, Ritchie Petrie, middle name? There was an entire episode devoted to this. |
Sept. 21, 2007 DesertGuy Men's 60 224 posts | Great idea Dbax. I thought I knew, and went online to check, but was wrong. Since I cheated by checking, I'll not spoil the fun, But I am ready if I ever get one right and get the floor! Thanks! |
Sept. 21, 2007 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Thanks DG. I should have made it an easier one to start out with. Thanks for not spoiling it. I will give it another hour then give some hints. |
Sept. 21, 2007 stattad Men's 65 235 posts | I saw that episode. Rosebud. |
Sept. 21, 2007 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Rosebud is absolutely right! His middle name was made up from the first initial of various relatives. Stattad, the floor is yours. |
Sept. 21, 2007 Tater50 Men's 60 336 posts | Wasn't "Rosebud" the nickname given by Jack Elam to Clint Walker's daughter on "The Night of the Grizzly"? I have eeeeeeeeeed Clint on several occasions: he answers when he has time. Tater50 |
Sept. 21, 2007 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | While we're at it and in between questions and answers the earliest TV shows I can recall watching (for me) was the hand puppet version of Bennie & Cecil (the seasick sea serpent/boy talk about an unfortunate birthright). I forget the Captains name (the heavy). And Kukla, Fran, and Ollie sometime shortly after that. Before that I don't think we had a TV yet (gasp) and I had to be content playing with Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs and such until my right handed Father decided to teach his left handed son how to hit and throw right handed so I kinda did that instead of staring at the wall waiting for TV to be invented and placed in front of me. There might be some earlier shows that I watched but won't remember until someone else brings them up. |
Sept. 21, 2007 Dbax Men's 65 2100 posts | Stattad, you are up............... |

And the most important rule of them all is absolutely no GOOGLING OR INTERNET SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS! NO CHEATING! Einstein is at the plate. No one can post a question until they correctly answer his. Unless he passes the floor to someone else. |

Sept. 24, 2007 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Boink - times up after about 12 hours I guess I was the only one that saw Andy Devine on "Andy's Gang" starring Midnight the Cat, Froggy the Gremlin, Squeaky the Mouse, and Rama the Jungle Boy with his cliff hanging serial adventure endings. The show was sponsored by Buster Brown Shoes and when Andy grinningly opened the box there was Buster Brown and his dog - probably leading to a commercial. <> <> <> <> <> If this thread still has interest we'll try for another - Every kid drank Ovaltine wanting a secret decoder ring and wishing he were cool like Captain Midnite flying around getting bad guys straigtened out.
