Make the game safer?
When associations try to make the game safer by banning bats, changing balls, moving the pitching distance, etc...they are wasting time and effort. We all have played long enough to know that injuries are part of the game. Some more serious than others. Nobody wants to be taken to the emergency room to have a ball surgically removed from their body. The risk of playing this game that we love is understood. As an infielder and pitcher, I would like to think to that nobody in the senior division would intentionally try to hurt or severely injure a fellow player. By banning bats, using restricted flight balls, and implementing ridiculous restrictions they are greatly reducing and/or eliminating home runs.Legitimate home run hitters will eventually adjust there swing resulting in extremely hard hit balls in the infield and unfortunately, up the middle. We all realize that the older we get, the better we used to be. Our reaction time and the ability to respond is starting to slow down. Therefore, we play smarter and adjust accordingly. Bottom line is, let us play the game knowing that injuries are going to happen. The game of softball wasn't and isn't broken....QUIT TRYING TO FIX IT!!

I agree with you cheezhed. I pitch for JAH in the Major + division. It seem like to me the more they change the bats and the balls the more players hit down on the ball and the middle is the best place to go. We have played inseveral tourney where they bring in a outfield and play 6 player on the inflield and we have did the same thing because the ball was sorry. HR is a big part of the game and some organizations are trying totake it away because the balls and bats are to hot. We play ball because we love the game. when you see player 50 to 70 years old in the hot sun trying to act we where 20 again it because we want to. Flexall and bengay would be out of business if we stopped. When I stand out on the mound i know there is a chance of being hit but i have pitched when we hit the t4000 and the hot dot balls. there some I did not see till they got to the outfield but I did not quit then and I not quitting now. I think maybe look at the age divisions and ask the players what ball to use. When you see the big HR hitting hitting up the middle like they was in ISA world you know something is wrong. Please don't change the game we love to play
