That sounds interesting. Never heard of it though. Where can we get more information on this tournament? Contacts, web site etc?

Do they also have a 50 over? Or is it just 65/70. Does anyone have an e-mail contact?

Do you have the location of the tournament. The Canada team I am playing is going to send me the info but in the meantime I would like to look it up on Mapqest to see If I want to drive from Ma. or fly.

When I first started in Senior ball our team went there for my first 3 years and i always left with broken bones. The fields that you played on the first day were absolutely beautiful all nestled in the Canadian pines. The Florida fields had nothing over these fields. When you get a hit, you can hear it echo throughout the entire trees. If you have the first games in the AM, you might have to work your way through some of the wildlife animal dropping left there from the night before. But the infields are about 20ft.+ deep with fine gravel. It is just the natural terrain. It is not a good place to dive or slide. Biesides myself, I have seen allot of injuries if you play with any agressiveness in the infield. My only complaint about the tournament was, back then, after the first day on these nice fields, you would have to move to another set of fields as their league play would take over. These other fields for the championships were open diamonds and very much unkept. The last year we played, we were in the 50+ championships on open fields where the grass was so long in the outfield that the ball would not roll. Hopefully they changed there set-up for the 2nd. day. But if you do go, you MUST go to their tourn. cookout at their hockey arena. It is a wonderful time to meet the other players and wives and a chance to win a nice gift at their raffle. Over all, I recommend this tourn. for at least one try. Our northern friends really have good hospitality and are always willing to share a beer with you. Enjoy....Larry, Silver Legends.

Our team has been going to the Dorchester Tournament for many years and think it is one of the best we play in. Very well organized and the playing fields are better each year. They use ASA rules and it is a SPA qualifier for the Canadian teams. You won't go wrong playing in this tournament. Contact person is John Lidster, 519-690-2685

Thanks for info Ron24. I haven't got the info from my team in Canada yet but you answered the big question I had on bats. If it is ASA then my PST120 won't be legal but my PST Extra will be. What city is it located in?

Just as a point of interest, there was a "PERFECT" game pitched at the Dorchester tourney this year. It happened in the 65's, pitched by Harvey kost and backed up by the midwest geezers 65's...... and they won the tourney also!
