Teammate had a close call
Many of you know Jackson Williams. This year he plays for the Alabama 55's and last year and the year before he played with the Pensacola Hitmen. Wednesday he had a "blockage" and was rushed to the emergency room. He had two stints put in and was told to hold off from softball for 45 days. I know he would like you best wishes and prayers.

had a great opportunity to play with the Alabama 55 team in a local tourney outside of Altanta this past weekend. I first hand saw a team pour out prayer for Jackson. They all joked and signed a card for Jackson but I saw the love that this team has for their fellow players. I will also put Jackson in my prayers and I would like to thank the Alabama 55 team for letting this old ballplayer from NC to be a part of their family for a day.

Jackson Williams has been an opponent for 5 years now; only had the pleasure to play with him for one tourney, but in all the years; all the games; win or lose; he has exemplified the true marks of an American, gentlemen, good sportsman & above ALL, a great Christian. The world is blessed to have a Jackson Williams & would be even more blessed if there were others. You heal fast & we will see you soon going 65' & turning left. All of your friends are hanging with you & Almighty God will give you a speedy & healthful recovery. Your Friend John

BRUCE IN GA, i dont know JACKSON WILLIAMS, but am glad he dodged the close call he had , this shows that we ,the senior players, NEED to take a stress test at least once a year. this 15 minute treadmill test will expose any blood flow problems. I, also had 2 stents put in on 3/15/03. my problem was exposed during a stress test, and was in the hospital within 2 days, they did the DIE TEST,the die exposed where the blockages were and the stents were installed. HERE IS THE PROBLEM, if your problem is caught early enough you might escape any damage to the heart muscles, if you wait until something happens, you might not be so lucky. GUYS, dont screw around with this stuff, get yourself checkout at least once a year, we want you around playing this great game. WATCH YOUR DIET. take care of yourselves! FRANK A. TEXAS LEGENDS 60'S
