Abused Childrens home needs equipment
This is going out to all of Senior Softball. I have a request for old equipmwent from a small home for Abused children just outside of San Antonio, they are trying to put together a team, but have no money or equipment. If you have anything you arent using, (gloves, balls, old bats, helmets, etc, they would be grateful to get them. All shipping will be handled by them or me.
Please leave me a message if you can help. Who knows maybe one of these kids will be the next senior to play and continue our great tradition.

I have shot off a request to Austin asking for the central Ca location(s). In a search I found locations in other states, Fl, NY, New England CA as well besides TX.
So Ca has many locations listed but my request to them was for the central cal locations to spread this around. If more get involved the help is also spread about.
I have done this for places in Africia, and Indonesia in the last 5 years.
Kinda nice actually.

Hi all,

My name is Gary and I'm John's nephew in Austin. I thought I'd come online and give a little info about what we do here at the Phoenix Academy. We are a substance abuse treatment facility for 13-17 year olds. We actually are the only facility for this age group in 30 counties that handles females too. The kids live here and go to school here for 4-6 months. We are what's called a theraputic community in that we try to instill values and morals along with the drug/alcohol free life lessons. We highly recommend family involvment as the kids will need help & understanding when they go home. Most of our kids are on probation and are court ordered but not all. We are a non profit and have facilities across the US.

I would like to thank everyone who has shown an interest in helping us out. Kenny Ray here in the Austin area came by thsi morning and left us some great stuff to get started and reading the messages posted so far it looks like we will be ready to play very soon.

I would like to let everyone know that any equpment we get over and above what we need will go to other Phoenix facilities. Nothing will go to waste.

Lastly, all donations to the Phoenix are tax deductable so give us your name & address when sending stuff and we'll get a letter of thanks and prooof of donation back to you.

Thanks again for all of your generosity, you rock!!
