Could someone elaborate on this new Combat
Several questions is it replacing the current senior model? Price point? I happen to be a Combat fan haven't swung an Ultra II since the Combat came out. Will there be an EL? I know this was covered but why the change?

The new bat will be the senior gear Mike Macenko model. It will come in a 13 inch and 10 inch barrel. It has the same pop with some improvements in durability and sweet spot. We have also been working on the end cap problem and I think we have that solved. I will be in ct tomorrow and I have a 28 oz el if someone would like to swing it in bp. Why change a great bat? We will continue to offer the original but we feel this bat will be the next thing in senior softball.

Please check out the bat bag with the chair link you will not find a beeter rolller bag anywhere on the planet.

Trumpball: I used my Combat this weekend in North Branford with very good results. If the end cap does come off can it be glued and will it hold if there are small cracks around the cap? What kind of glue to you suggest?

about the end caps coming off, the combats, I call the rep for combat and informed him that our team has had 4 end caps that came off, the oldest was 10 months old and the newest 1 month, we sent one back and they had it for 4 months, saying they couldn't find dit but after several calls they found it and repaired it, it came off after 20 hits and flew by the shortstop's head, that was enough for me to find out a repair that would last, the suggestion from combat was liquid metal, not, use 3M marine adhesive sealant fast cure 4000 uv. There is quite alot of prep work if you would like info email and I can help with it.

found on another board!
I've used this on 3 different ComBats -- 3M Marine adhesive - get the fast cure (white & red tube). Stays flexible and works great - I sanded the perimeter of the end cap and inside the barrel walls a bit for better adhesion.

pop the cap off, clean it, and goop it up good - tap it in with a hammer - wipe off excess - and let it stand on the endcap 24 hours plus - I'd wait a few days to swing it though.

Home Depot has it and it's only about $7 a tube.

hope it helps

The best glue to use for the end-caps is golf club glue. Its a two part gule they have some that will set up in one hour or 24 hours. I have been making golf clubs for ten years and never had a head come off. I have replaced about ten end caps for guys in the Phoenix area as far back as two years and never had one come off. It doesn't chip after it gets hard. If anyone would like to try It I would be glad to mail you some.

I am in the process of buying the Macenko model, however, if this bat have so much problem, I am not sure that I wnat to waste the money, I am not a very handy man. I guess I just get U2 and call it quits.

I have two of the Macenko bats. I have not had any loose end cap problems with this bat. Try one, you won't be disappointed. I do not believe that the new Ultras are as good as this bat.

You made a good choose. I’ve had my combat gear for about month an a half and used it in three tourneys. The first was a break in, the second was St. George, it s been the bat stated to be. Used it last weekend and had an outstanding tourney. I used my grey combat twice since getting this bat. The ball jumps. I haven't had any end cap problems thus far. $199 is the best deal or try e-bay. Good luck.
