Playing a lower division team in Champaign
In Champaign last weekend we played 2 AA teams (we are a AAA team). We had to give them 5 runs and then played by AAA HR rules! WHY?? Rule 13.3(8) E states "If there is a difference in rules governing the teams in a mixed division, the rules governing the weaker, older, teams will be used". THIS WAS NOT DONE!!!
Also, we played 45 minute games on Sunday (no problem with this), but the 5 runs given to the AA team were given in the 1-5 inning (not 2-6) so they could get their 5 runs.
This goes against the same rule as above 13.3(8) E which statesc "If the gane only goes 5 innings, the weaker team will recieve a maximum of 4 runs." THIS WAS NOT DONE!!!!
I do not want to sound like a winey-but but shouldn't we abide by the rules written in the 2008 OFFICIAL RULE BOOK?????

Expalin this to me SSUSA!!!!

HEY Chuck...JC from DLSC......I hear ya on this....we had tha that Chicago 55AA AND the 50sAA in Indy....tourney ALLOWED the 50sAA to play their 55sAA for the SHIRTS.....only had 1 50AA team I think over there.....we got beat in the SEMIs by the 55AA...on Sunday...BOTH TEAMS are pretty good, 55s were a AAA team by far and especially the 50s...beat us by.....20, maybe on Sat.night...Terry H and Company sure need to stay up on these teams that are entering...wouldn't take much to make a call to these TDs and ask who/'s playing..etc, etc..check some scores from tourneys before, etc, etc.....WE made it to the FINALS in Champaign but OSHKOSH hit, hit..hit...22-8..we stopped hitting...best to u guys..we're headed to St.Louis Aug 1-3

Good hunting...Chuck..

After your dialog on the (AA homerun power) thread I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you honestly tried to get your 50's moved to AAA. Now you've changed your tune and want to justify your rating as AA. If you'll remember it wasn't the amount of runs scored it was the huge amount of HOME RUNS you guys hit. Trying to blur the line between your 50's and 55's won't hold water. Maybe your 55's should be re-rated AA but your 50's are definitely a strong AAA team. The 50 AAA division was pretty strong in Champaign. Teams like Sports Print Sting (won in Indy), Mitchell Foundation, Pinnacle, Doug & Dons, Brickyard, OG"s are all good AAA teams and all score lots of runs. Count their total HR's and yours and see where you rank in that category. THAT'S THE ISSUE. Welcome to the next level.

I am not complaining about HR's here or how a team is rated. I am talking about following the SSUSA Rule Book during tournaments. Why didn't we follow the rules at Champaign? That is the point of this thread!

Not to split hairs Vet but HR's allowed and the equalizer is exactly what your original comment on this thread was about. "The Rule" that governs mixed divisions. If we went by the rules, the AAA teams would have had to stay in the park (HR's) with AA rules and give the 5 runs. No problem. BUT give the 5 and let THEM hit as many as they did is also a violation of the Rules you mentioned. I feel your pain. Your right about the rules not being adhered to.
Let's hope they correct it. It's time to move on. Hope to see ya in St. Louis.

Corky, we are still trying to get the 50AA team rerated. For the last 3 weeks we have been trying to get this done. As of this time the 55 aaa team is not that. We have contacted the office to no avail regarding this situation. The 55 team got rerated to AAA after the Indy tourny because we were plus 6 on the run side. You are punished for scoring a few more runs. We have not done anything since. AS far as the rules go we have played 5 SSUSA tournys and played under 5 different sets. Why have a rule book if it is not being followed. So guys try to stop beating us down, its SSUSA

Good luck on your complaint. We players have no voice in what happens. Consistency what is that.
We as a new 70's team were rated Majors.
New teams should play until they deserve that rating.
You are absolutely right but get somebody to listen to you.
SSUSA -SPA SSWS Have 3 different plate sizes
3 different roster formats
They can't seem to agree or talk with players on anything .
It is dictated to us.

Players need a group voice.

I brought up pitching box concerns. I would have got more satisfaction talking to a tree.

Now I am trying to appeal my rating. At best we are a decent AAA team that has gotten beaten bad by AAA teams.

Either we are a bad majors team or there are some awful good AAA teams or just maybe- maybe the higher ups rating us made a mistake.

Not many or anybody one can turn to in these situations.

corky im not trying to make excuses, if we go aaa so be it, hope to play against you even up, will be fun, im just saying yes we hit a lot of hrs, yes we score a lot of runs, but the truth be know with out the 5 runs we lose, so why are you given 5 runs? its called the equalizer! the diffence between aa and aaa is what? just hrs! its about consitancey with hrs, defense, etc, all the time

With that said. (your post July18) What do YOU think your team should be rated??

BTW... you can enter your team in any division higher than your rated... on the tournament entry form. I believe there is a section that has you list age and division on the tournament registration form. .......and yes it would be fun playing you guys even up. See ya in St. Louis

I see that Umby ! Just looked at the draw for the ISA worlds in St. Louis.
We play you guys in pool play. But it seems you registered in the AA division. Its got to be a mistake right? After all you tried to get moved to AAA and surely you registered for the tourney as a AAA team right?
Your TRUE colors are showing. Be sure of this if we have to give ya the runs again, we will play by the AA homerun rules. THAT will be established before the game starts this time. Good Luck

and its MEANT
